| Owner: Charles Colyear, 2nd Earl of Portmore Breeder: William Cavendish, 2nd Duke of Devonshire
The third earliest mare in the lineage of Family 5
9 April 1735 - 200 guineas match Newmarket versus Duke of Bridgewater's mare (rec 5lbs)

An outstanding broodmare from which the whole of Family 5 apparently descends (although there are mtDNA identified errors in Family 5 which show that the family actually descends from three separate founder mares - see The Massey Mare entry)
Dam of Hag (by Crab), from which branches 5-a to 5-e of Family 5 descend; of a daughter by Young Cartouch, from which branch 5-f descends; of Young Ebony (by Crab), from which branches 5-g and 5-h descend; of a daughter by Sedbury, from which branches 5-i and 5-j descend; and of Skin (1749 King's Plates Winchester, Nottingham and Edinburgh)
