Prairie, it was announced that he was moving to Buckpond just last week. Sad for the Illinois program but hopefully onto bigger things for him.

Shammy, it looks like Fort Prado bred 60 mares in 2010. The link below is to an older Hill N Dale ad with this info. He had 3 weanlings sold at auction this year with a median of $51k (mean $57k). He was well received for an Illinois stallion, and as an Illinois breeder, the nicest stallion the stat...

he is the sole reason that handle is down 31% and i'm not exaggerating. Interesting question! I have heard this reason being discussed at the track as possibly one of the major reasons for the huge drop. There's nothing appealing for bettors when horses at 9-5 cream a bunch of overmatched (but othe...

He also enjoys winning the leading owners title at AP year over year. This seems to be far more important than appropriately spotting his horses! It's very frustrating to enter you horse where it belongs only to have his moderately successful GP allowance horse dropped into your $10,000 NW of 3!

I am having a hard time understanding the comments about her not being quite right but still training regularly. Sure, some trainers may work their unsound, inexpensive claiming stock (not that I condone this practice, but we all know it's common), but I can't imagine any connections who would risk ...

It was sure fun to watch a series of races when it was Affirmed vs. Alydar. To me, this seems equally as interesting.

drewsbadboy: Our Rubiano filly was a complete doll to work around, but she was really opinionated when it came to racing. She ran up front and would fight to get there, but the jock could only use the whip a few times in the stretch or she would put on the brakes. When she decided she was done in a ...

Open options are always good! :) As far as the difference between ICF vs IF, we found the quality we gained by breeding in Ky outweighed the potential breeders and owners bonus if the horse had been ICF. It was tough to find an Illinois stallion that consistently threw horses that could compete in o...

Just wondering if you are breeding specifically for the "Illinois conceived and foaled" part of the Illinois breeding program or if you are open to "Illinois foaled" as well? As Illinois breeders on a small scale for the past 15 years, we've taken both approaches. For us, we found more value in bree...
