More than one turf writer has referred to Bonne Nuit as a steeplechaser, but there are no official records of him having raced at all. However there were various private race meets held in VA hunt country at the time.
Well known excellent jumper sire.
He was especially known for getting jumpers that were extremely quick and careful.
He sired Olympic jumpers, and was also renowned as a sire of sires, and did well as a broodmare sire as well.
