Nite Spot: frame overo TB back in USA

I just read this on one of my yahoogroups. His pedigree is in the database, and I see he traces in male tail to *Mahmoud - plus another line thru his BMS. (he is inbred to his grandsire)
Nite Spot has three further crosses to *Alibhai as well.
I do hope I'm not repeating an earlier post! :o

Is Amazing Philly still racing? Her dam, Speak Compelling retired a few years ago, with 5 wins; and has produced a little brother to her.

Porter's Brush

In this book I have about horse racing in western Wisconsin; it's mentioned a horse named Porter's Brush was the first Thoroughbred on the fair circuit.
I'm curious about his pedigree, it sounds like he may have been from the sire line of (or by) The Porter. No info on him in the database though.

source for racing book

I was looking for Wisconsin themed books to send to my English penpals as Christmas gifts, and I found the "Cats To Kings" book at: www.wisconsinmade.com; at a decent price too.

Wisconsin Horse Racing Book published

I don't know if this information has been posted before, but are you aware a new book came out this past summer about horse racing in western Wisconsin? By Lisa Haefs, and Jeff Winter, it's entitled "From Cats To Kings: From Charlie Tiepner to D. Wayne Lukas: A Look At Racing In The Northwoods" I wa...

What is your favorite race of 2005?

I heard this on TVG the other day, and they are really pushing it:  Before December 16th, send them an email, telling them (in 50 words or less); what your favorite race of 2005 was. If they chose it for the broadcast of "My Favorite Race", it will be told on the air, and you will get ...

early American sires

Thinking about the early sires imported to America prior to; or nativeborn American sires prominent to 1850, are any still extant in the male line? If not, when did they go extinct?

Man, I saw that name and I thought it was the FATHER after all of these years !! I remember the father vaguely and could probably find some old programs here with his name included. #He was interviewed by the TVG hosts and he said both his parents were jockies - just before P-Val broke two eggs ove...

I can assure you the guilty parties aren't anyone on the fantasy racing circuit my stable is on. Probably "sim kiddies" again, fooling around.

cold as a witch's elbow in Wisconsin

The last three mornings have been either just under or over zero, and as a crossing guard, I know my poor digits will be frozen solid! Last night, I went online and looked up reusable hand warmers: there are four kinds out there. 1) Liquid/solid fuel 2) Battery operated (mittens or gloves, the most ...

Appaloosa patterned Thoroughbred stallion

I just heard about this horse on one of my yahoogroups. He's from the Bold Ruler sire line, and family #6 on the dam's side. This horse is by an Argentine stallion so i suspect he is that weird color that Leslie did a talk on at Breyerfest Anyway it is a wierd pattern that seems to occur only down t...

Man o' War's primary base has always been in North America. The branch descended through Relic is pretty well extinct as a source of top horses in Europe, so the future of the Man o' War line in Europe now lies with the sons and grandsons of Warning. There were a few Man o' War line stallions in th...
