Thanks shammy thats really good to hear - I thought, from the way that it is put to you when your horse is diagnosed, that the shoes were a necessity regardless of whether they are ridden or buted etc. However, since I posted this the hoof that my mare had lost her shoe from got really sensitive and...

General Question for breeding
I have seen alot on Fescue grass since I had my mare bred and I wonder how serious is this problem, how easy/expensive/effective is it to get grass tested for endophytes?
Can anyone tell me? Many thanks!

My horse when I got her four years ago used to do the exact same as the arab you have described - Lame on different fore hooves but only when ridden and once you gave up work would be bright as a button - turns out four whole years later almost to the day she was suffering intermittent lameness due ...

Well, it did go down ...

Thanks for your response - I have spoken to my farrier, he is going to replace her natural balance shoes and place them slightly further back and trim her toe even shorter, Unfortunatley we have already lost one shoe so placing them even further back could just mean more lost shoes! He is also going...

Well, we went to the vets - turns out i have myself a case of navicular syndrom ( I had come to expect this beforeI got to the vets) but the xrays were far better than either yselft or the vet had expected so hopefully good corrective shoeing should help her. Anyone had experience with Navicular, si...
