Why couldn't his book have been full? Many first years, especially ones at that price level and track accomplishments fill up quickly, often before the start of the new year. Darley has such a great reputation for supporting the people who breed to their stallions at the sale that I'm sure many peop...

I like her with Hero's Tribute. She was a hardknocking mare and Hero's Tribute was more of the same. The cross brings in a RF to top class and influential broodmare Quill. It also brings in 3 lines of Northern Dancer through top class individuals. He fits into your budget and I'm sure you can get hi...

My guess is, they're capitalizing on the new focus on the family. He's the type of horse who's going to fly under the radar to most breeders but his immediate family now has Pyro on the Derby trail making big waves. I've not been impressed with this horses races or for that matter his physical, but ...

Were they out of Australian families or stallions? The American crops have looked pretty damn solid.

Be interesting to see what the difference was.

I certainly wouldn't recommend breeding this mare as a beginner, but in the hands of a skilled breeder with resources, she's got some very interesting bloodlines to play with.

I can't remember ever seeing Noble Lord in a pedigree. Lalun that close makes me smile.

Arch has done pretty damn well with Seeking the Gold mares. The cross is solid and if the physicals match, you'll get a foal that will be a good sales candidate and breed to race candidate. Problem is, Arch is booked up for the year.

Might want to get to him early for next season in the fall.

Adore this horse's pedigree. Amazing female family who has proven to get nice stallions with limited opportunities.

We've bred to him 3 times. The foals are all correct and full of starch. They have some of the best hips and shoulders I've seen in young foals.

I'm not sure he's going to make a stallion and he has quite the mean streak in him, but he's throwing correct babies.

I was going to make a notation about Caerleon and Royal Academy in particular. I think both are tremendous stallions who I love to see in a pedigree. But, it's safe to say that at this point, both are better broodmare sires than sire of sires much like their father.

I sold a Bold Ruckus-line mare as a broodmare prospect and the new owner sent her to Artie Schiller. I wasn't that impressed with the cross but the foal is fantastic looking. He may be one to prove me wrong. You certainly can't fault his female family. Very classy branch of Frizette. And we all know...

Most stud fees, especially regional ones, are very open to negotiation. I'm sure if you had a decent mare and asked for a 3.5k fee, they wouldn't turn you down. All fees are open to negotiation if you're persistent and bring something decent to the table.

Plodder is a great description in my opinion. He's very unimpressive physically. When I saw him as a yearling, he was very feminine but an over-all good animal. But after seeing him after his retirement, there was a lot lacking in my opinion. As much as I love that female line, the only way I'd use ...

I also will agree with the Wild Rush assessment. I bought one last year and she's a great looking girl. She was tough on the track and won in very good company. But with a Euro bottom line and Wild Rush never having been in much favor, she passed for rather cheap at the sale. Anyone else notice WR r...

I'm shocked by the 30k fee. Granted he has a G1 and G2 win to his credit, but the horse is by a yet unproven sire of sires, out of an Irish Open mare, it's late in the season and he'll only have a partial book. They're not making it very enticing to switch stallions last minute in my mind with that ...

He's a good looking horse who consistently gets runners on every surface. If you're breeding for race horses, there's a ton to like about him. He'd be one to check out poly stats on. He may excel on them.
