Hancocks to receive Equine Protection award

I didn't see it posted else where, but I'm glad there are some responsible breeders out there who will take care of the horse that they bred and they are recongnized for it. http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/todaysnews/newsview.asp?recno=64170&subsec=1 Posted: 5/31/2006 6:45:15 PM Hancocks to rec...

William W, have a look at this post by Pete: http://www.pedigreequery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4798 This is what you want to do if you are going to be in the claim game. As Austique pointed out, there are some good claiming trainers who can help you make that decision. That's an excellent read. Th...

Thanks for the replies. So if I were to get into the hobby to take part in racing/breeding race horses, which of the following will be less costly? Owning a Stallion? Racing? Breeding Foals? (But from Madelyn "Bloodbath" thread, it seems like that's probably the most costly.) Now I know why it is ca...

Breakeven

I have been considering buying my first thoroughbred and become a small time breeder for the past 5 years. (My most recent close ca...

Ok... I saw in the local ad, the price on this mare has been reduced to $500 Canadian $, which is like $420 US$.

I called the owner, she was still available as of last week. Karie, if you're really interested, PM me, and if some how we can work out some sort of boarding arrangement, let me know. As I said before, I'm not too concern about the initial investment, it is more the monthly up keep that I'm concern ...

I live in the same city as the seller of this mare. And I think she is a bargain. And paying $750 for the mare is not a problem. The real problem is I'm not ready for the financial committment in paying $400/month in boarding fees for the mare. Anyone interested in splitting the cost with me? :)
