We have had a few run here downunder and they go well. We are just coming out of our winter where the tracks have been a bit heavy so the spring will tell with him I'd imagine.
What I've seen over here in the West (Western Austrlia) have been pretty darn good. I wouldn't write him off at all.

Terms
In Australia we use the following terms (1) Place Pool: The total amount of money invested by gambers on place bets for a race. The place pool is where you get a dvidend (return) for 1st 2nd or 3rd placing. (2) Quadrella (or Quaddie) Pool. Same as the place pool but for a "quaddie" which is picking ...

I just loved watching the whole Breeders Cup programme here in Australia live the other night. What a great race meeting. Whilst racing is a worldwide thing it is always interesting how races are called in different countries. I just loved the Stevie call. You didn't want to be on any other horse in...

This is a truly great mare of world standard. 3 Melbourne Cups a Cox Plate an Australian Cup and a Sydney Cup in one lifetime - just amazing. She is the best horse Australia has produced since Phar Lap. The owner is a Tuna Fisherman - yeah and he is worth about $150 million +++. They catch a lot of ...

Starcraft
He is a big flashy chestnut horse with a very powerful finish. He has raced in Aus and NZ prior to going north. He raced against our best here in Aus and did really well. Was beaten by a superstar by the name of Reset (by Zabeel) who had 6 runs for 6 wins and is now standing at Darley. Starcraft wen...

An amazing race (over 2,040 metres) won by a champion mare Makybe Diva. Probably one of the best races ever run in Aus. Field of 15 started with 11 horses taking off in a wave at the 600m. I've never seen that before in my 30+ years of watching horse races. The Diva had them covered at the corner (2...

Yeah they called Gunsynd the Gundawindi Grey (from the town in Aust that he hailed from). Beautiful grey horse with a powerful turn of foot. Those looking at the pedigree of Railings will note his sire Zabeel. He is truly a world class sire indeed. His horses shine anywhere from a mile upwards. Zabe...

Winner of the richest 2,400 metre race in the world today was Railings, trained by John Hawkes. Second was the Japanese horse Eye Popper and third was another Aussie Mummify (by Jeune - a Melbourne Cup Winner). Most of these horses will now go on to the $3 million+ AUS Melbourne Cup run over 3,200 m...

Eye Damage
Very interesting topic. I had a 3 week old colt kicked in the eye by a mare recently. He has some residual damage to the eye, and I was trying to get information on his chances of making it to the track. I'm from Australia where they will not let you race unless there is at least some vision in both...
