Grand Slam

I tried to buy a daughter of his at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale earlier this month but she went over my budget. Her name was Impetus and she was Hip #125 and was gorgeous - big, correct, well-balanced and a very nice demeanor!

Angel Bay and Northrn Spur

That is the way I would go for the linebreeding RF to two superior mares as others have already pointed out. Madelyn, is there a purpose trying to get a 19b family mare to Rocking Trick other than they would both be ITF 19b? I have a 19b filly in training and it is a family you don't see often ITF.

Raffle Choices

Gosh, these are some interesting matings. It is a good thing she isn't due until March.

Raffle

Thanks for the suggestions. The foal Raffle is carrying (by Domestic Dispute) is very definitely destined for the sales ring. I am still not sure what my intention will be for her next foal. I am a very small breeder (two mares) and, depending on whether they both get in foal, will determine whether...

Raffle

I just purchased a 13 year-old mare named Raffle by Polish Numbers out of Better To Be Lucky by Roberto (Hip # 204 at Fasig-Tipton December Midlantic). She is in foal to Domestic Dispute and is due March 20th.

Any ideas on a possible mate? We live in Maryland.

What lines?

Maureen,

I take it you are sending them to your friend's stallion? What is his name?

Proud Citizen

Anyone know why his stud fee was reduced for 2007? I thought he had pretty decent sales results.

Artie Schiller

Is your question about Artie Schiller for general comments or in reference to a particular mare? In general, I have not studied him much but I think he will get a good chance at stud because Ben Walden, Jr. has enough connections in the Bluegrass to see he gets some good mares. He was a consistent r...

Alphabet Soup's stud fee?

Casper wrote:
If you are breeding to race, Alphabet Soup is ridiculously priced at $10k.
I thought Alphabet Soup was $15,000 this year. Has he dropped to $10,000?

Getting help at Keeneland

Pav, Keeneland is the most user friendly place to buy a horse. When I purchased my first one there, I used their website on preparing to purchase and found it most helpful. The people in the office are very helpful and polite. The consigner that I bought my filly from took me by the hand and walked ...

Treating rain rot

A couple years ago on another forum a member from the state of Washington (where they know rain) stated that she used Tinactin, the atlete's foot medication to great results. I tried it and it works better than the stuff my vet gave me.
