Pan Zareta, between you on the offsets & Bedouwia & others on those Derby glasses . . . My wife is having a heck of a time on eBay too!

Best of luck, Madelyn, and do question those bills.

Any chance of contacting the Woodbine [or where ever else she raced] track photog to get a win photo? They keep their negatives forever; you need to supply date & race & the photographer may be able to help.

Re: Looking for farm in S.E. Pa.

I'm looking for a farm in the S.E. quarter of Pa. that has quality broodmare and foal care (stall) at a reasonable price per day. Around $12. I'm not sure you will find a farm in SE PA at $12/day because that's the part of the state where prices are highest in general, and the hay prices there were...

Tenpins

Bumping this post back toward the top, having read Madelyn's post about the Walmac deal on Tenpins for mares foaling outside KY. Since I haven't sold the broodmare prospect from the family of Fabulous Strike yet, I need to consider him. Anyone in addition to Karie & patrick see him & have an...

Interesting bloodlines on your mare - a Damascus-line sire could give you a nice Rasmussen factor breeding on his dam, Kerala, who is also your mare's 3rd dam. But I don't know any Damascus-line sires in PA to point you toward. Nasrullah, your mare's sire-line, and Turn-To are a well-documented nick...

We've got a mare from his immediate family who is technically for sale [she's by Langfuhr]. Hard to find the right cross with the family, unless you go to a turf horse. We're in PA, where turf is available for racing only part of the year [and AWS only at Presque Isle.] It's hard to decide whether t...

Re: Regional Stallions and the BC

I find in my discussions with some regional stallion owners their stallions are not nominated for the BC as they do not feel the expense is justified. . . . My feeling is if the stallion owner does not have enough confidence in his stallion to nominate why should I believe the stallion will fulfill...

Gerry, that would be in the general vicinity of Binghamton, NY & YES - a wonderful location, accessible from I-80, I-81, the PA Turnpike [NE extension] I-78 to I-812 from NJ . . . a wonderful location all this is, of course, from a PA perspective]. Late November -- probably good timing, too. I h...

Actually, speaking of sprinters, there are lots of mares from Fabulous Strike's family in PA. Wonder how they'd cross with RQ, although it might be too late to ask . . .

And I repeat . . . a couple of fairly high-dollar folks who consign at FT & Keeneland have mentioned that the best time to sell broodmares is some time between December & February. IF a non-Fasig-Tipton broodmare or breeding stock sale were held in NY or PA - the broodmare prices would proba...

Bargainblueblood or anyone -- Have you considered a broodmare-favored sale in NY/PA in the really late November to February time frame? We've been told by consignors that's the time frame when broodmares bring the best money -- I know from sad experience that the PA Sept. sale is WAY too early. I'd ...
