I think you guys are going to end up being real low in the predictions for his stud fee. $30-40,000 would be probably right on. He's 2 year old and almost certainly 3 year old champion, he won the Del Mar Futurity, Norfolk, Hollywood Futurity, Preakness, and Haskell. That's a pretty serious resume. ...

First Samurai was still standing for $30K in his 4th year at stud this year, and I'm sure that was a good comp when pricing Eskendereya. I actually had thought they may have gone higher with the horse, fwiw.

They'll probably get a lot of mares at $30K. First Samurai has stood for $30K or better his whole career, and this horse would compare at least equally to him. Eskendereya is a gorgeous horse, he ran the best races at least on a speed figure number of any three year old all year, and his pedigree is...

Malibu Moon is a great sire, and for practically every year, he's had a higher stud fee and has been bred to a better group of mares. He's a lot like Dynaformer in that regard. In my opinion, he's going to make a very good broodmare sire, but many of his early progeny comes from weak families, so hi...

actually after I wrote my post, I went and watched the race of the Borrego filly that won. We actually bred her dam years ago, and owned the second dam, Good Potential, who won the Sorority Stakes as a two year old filly by open lengths. So Nina Fleet has a right to have some gas.

We have a Borrego two year old filly. She is a gorgeous, strong filly with a good hip and pretty head. Her mother is by Storm Cat and was bred to a number of fashionable sires and never had anything that was near as good looking as her Borrego two year old. Hoping she's nice. Thought his horses in S...

I think he will make a sire. His mother was a total freak, winning the Del Mar Debutante in her second start. She had problems after that. He was a nice horse on the derby trail, and was good on synthetic as well as dirt. He will be hurt by the timing though, as stud plans for most people are alread...

Silvery Swan is definitely a remarkable broodmare. She had arguably the best horse by Mr. Greeley in El Corredor (or at least his first truly good one) the best Fupeg in Roman Ruler, and probably the best or at least most talented Vindication. Both El Corredor and Roman Ruler have turned into pretty...

He's still relatively young to be inbreeding to, and it hasn't been done too much. But i think it will work out, since inbreeding to In Reality has been hugely successful for a long time, and inbreeding to Foggy Note has also worked out. With horses like Tiznow, Ghostzapper, Point Given, City Zip, H...

I really like the horse. We bought two of his yearlings this year and were outbid on a few others. We bred a mare each of his first two years and have been happy with the foals. They're much prettier than typical Roberto-line horses. I think he'll continue to climb up the sire rankings as his horses...

I always liked this horse too. We owned a half sister to him, named Splendid Kiss, who unfortunately foundered and had to be put down this summer. But I followed him in stable mail and caught his races when I could, he always tried hard and could run over any surface. Cool horse for sure.

Cherokee Run has been pretty tricky to get in foal to the last few years. We actually have a mare that caught to him for 2010 and feel fortunate about it.
