If you plan on selling privately, it really helps to know some bloodstock agents or so forth to spread the word. I'm not sure how effective an ad in a magazine is. If you know someone that does alot of selling then private might be the way to go. If the horse isn't going to bring much money in a sal...

Get a vet ASAP. She should be getting a steady dose of pain medication(banamine). DMSO jugs and fluids in the IV form.

The parasites start dying and they become toxic to the horse's system.

This is usually when they send them to the clinic.

Its not a good photo to judge by. He's not really standing square it looks. Its looks as though he has a fair amount of bone to him, his pasterns aren't too long. It could just be how he is standing or the photo but it looks like he might toe out a bit. He is downhill but he looks like he is in a fu...

Our racehorses that are (3 and up) get Lubrysin. We've been trying this for the last 4 months, I'm not noticing too much of a difference but will continue until the end of the year to see how it goes.
We also feed Pala Mountains.

If you are talking about older horses(3 and up) and these are what you are calling "filler" races-probably claiming or allowance. Then most likely they were claimed sometime. There are private purchases of horses but I would say this would be a smaller percantage then horses that were bought at a sa...

I wouldn't breed her. Nothing says its worth it you'll have more in vet bills and training then the offspring probably will make. Don't breed cheap horses to create more cheap horses.

Turf horses and cheap sprinters usually never mix, they aren't fast enough and can't go far enough.

He's not been on meds or bandaid treatment. I don't consider him one of those that retired like the rest of them. Where they were pushed early and survived till the derby with bute. Then made up some story where they couldn't run him, etc. Its not the same with this horse.

I would breed a mare to him. The reason he retired had nothing to do with soundness issues caused from racing, breathing issues, or mental(that was a funny one). He's a nicely built colt that had nice talent. I'm not saying you are going to breed for a longer distance horse but he should sire many u...
