It's so sad to see this decay of Hialeah. I've heard that Pimlico is also decaying, albeit under a new splash of paint put on each year prior to the running of the Preakness...wish people cared more about historical places and preserving them!

Barbaro looked absolutely magnificent when he stepped off the van in his arrival at Pimlico for the Preakness. Pine Island was actually shot with a gun instead of using drugs??? I hope she at least got to be buried whole either at Churchill Downs or Claiborne Farm.

You would think that with the huge supplemental entry fees that the BC takes in, they could at least have enough emergency equipment ready.
Rest in peace, beautiful Pine Island. You gave your all and deserved much better than you got in your tragic end.
