Lots of good information here from a blog on the Paulick report last year. LAST CALL FOR ALCOHOL … REGULATORS HOPE By Ray Paulick Some Thoroughbred trainers and veterinarians are giving new meaning to the term “happy hour.” This isn’t the typical late-afternoon or early evening sessions when drinks ...

If only they could talk......I have known a few that run like the dickens in the morning and just can't get it together in the afternoon. They are the most frustrating of all. I is she a nervous filly- does she wash out in the paddock? Has she ever tied up after a work or a race? There are just so m...

You could ship her west and run short- always a place for a good 870 horse around this country. They let TB's in the Mixed Breed races going that distance- or they run 4 1/2 furlongs at Los Alamitas. Not quite what you had in mind, perhaps, but certainly an option if you want to keep her racing. I a...

Sunshine On Roses- Maybe a Miler?

I bred this filly thinking she would be a good miler prospect with an eye towards synthetic or turf but that is just an uneducated guess. I am hoping someone can take a look and give me some thoughts. She is nicely balanced with a good hip but seemingly slow to mature- not very big and still growing...

Actually, Air Power is not illegal, just it's administration in the detention barn. It is common practice to give Air Power, Wind Aid or the equivalent of any of these products to horses as a pre-race "lung opener". Sort of like a eucalyptus/menthol cough drop to open up the airways before going for...

Russian Trakenaar

This is a question for all you pedigree experts for which I have the greatest admiration! How you sort it all out and retain the information is beyond me! A friend recently acquired a Russian Trakenaar (sp) and he has the most Arab looking head- very broad across the forehead with large round eyes a...

Do you possibly mean Indian Mary? She ran at Grants Pass in Oregon last year. I actually like her sire's breeding- he is tucked away in the middle of nowhere and has very little on the ground- I think she is the only one who has made it to the races.

Pretty sure mine are too far away but I have two very good pony horses in Idaho that I could possibly sell. Both have over five years experience. PM if you want pics or more information.

Hay for Horse Owners in Need

What a great way to help out in this tough economy. I have always maintained that if some owners had a little help getting over the "hump" then they would have other options besides auctions, euthenasia or abandonment. I applaud these people's effort. http://www.thehorse.com/ViewArticle.aspx?ID=1336...
