I'll be interested to see how the BC Juvenile Turf shapes up. People are going to need patience with it, because IMO the first few years the race will be made up very heavily of Euros, with far lower class American runners. There just aren't any turf races for 2yos for horses to prep in. And with it...

I'm looking forward to all the people who will pound Curlin down to ridiculous odds on Derby Day. He may indeed have the makings of a nice horse, but three starts? Against a bunch of nobodies? With no challenges or troubles? That's a bet against. IMO, he doesn't even hit the board on Derby Day. I al...

I suspect that's what will happen to the Cigar Mile, among other races. I was thinking So Cal (Hollywood?) had a couple of graded 2yo turf races *after* the BC (the Miesque and the Generous). If I'm remembering the timeframe correctly, I bet they shift to beforehand as well. There are a lot of 2yo g...

Sting, you forgot to mention horse with best name. Oooh, good one! That would spark a lot of debate. :D Trainer with the best haircut? Seems Baffert would be a finalist every year. ;) Todd's hair is always nice, so is Bill Mott's. Of course, this category would be prejudicial against the great Whit...

Like Coolmore or not, Tabor, Magnier, and Company will take chances with a horse...ala Dylan Thomas, George Washington, and others. The Sheikh sees racing as an inconvenient necessity...something a horse does between being born and shuttling to the breeding shed. Think back to when he retired Laamt...

I believe those will be the three finalists, yes. But I have little doubt Pine Island will get the nod. a) she has the sympathy vote (a horrible thing to say, but true; I'm not sure anybody would seriously consider Barbaro could beat Bernardini had he been retired after the Derby with a non-life thr...

A good analysis, SB. Though I assume this is *your* opinions and feelings and not a forecasting of what will happen. :) Street Sense will get champion 2yo male. Pine Island will get champion 3yo female (and I think she should). Ouija Board is a strong favorite for turf female. I do feel you overlook...
