I was not impressed at first of this stallions chances, But I have been very surprised. At first glance at his pedigree you think short speed, but his babies seem to have nice tactical speed and evan look as if they will run two turns very nicely. The farm that stood him early on bred some nice mare...

You have finally proved that you actually do own a horse. I think it is great that you rescue foundered horses but you must be made of money to do it for no future plan for these horse's because you said yourself that they would not be worth anything. I will tell though I imagine that I have saved m...

I did not say find a home, because you have already said that has failed. I did provide a solution in humane euth. If you have animals that you cannot sell and cannot feed, euth is better than letting them beat the snot out of each other for too few scraps of food while they slowly starve to death....

To all I've been following along and it seems the theme should be that many on this topic simply want to tell others what they can and cant do. Or what they can raise or not raise. I guess to satisfy them we need to ask permission when ever we breed any horse any where, since most of us just aren't ...

All horses bleed to an extent. Yes it has a long term effect it strengthens the lungs and allows the lungs to take on much more air. Over the past few years in our racing program we have used clem up to Five days before a race, because anything closer will be detected in a post race sample and a bad...

When you talk about prolonging soundness. It does not make sense to me if you have a horse with problems and almost all have some inflamation issues some based on very minor things. That you do not beleive in treating with med. that the last time I checked were legal in every racing jurisdiction in ...

It is sad to think that anyone would think that racehorses are abused. From top to bottom racehorses are treated with the very best of care. Yes during races jockeys give a great deal of encouragement with their whip but I have never seen a horse injured fromwhiping during a race. The abuse comes wh...

We win at a 30% clip because our barn receives thet best of the best from top to bottom from shoers to gallop boys. From feet to teeth. The number one key is health bar none. No magic no smoke and mirrors just plain 2007 horsemanship.

Juicing is not a race day special. If u wait till race day to give ur magic potion u will always be an also ran. U have to take a horse with some ability and make him feel like King Kong. Many tr. overlook dental work. We have received many horses that have went one or two years with no dental work....

This is a great topic. I have worked and been a part of racing for ten years. What I was taught about training and Med. I am sure is totally diferent than 50 years ago and will say I think any horse that leaves a barn of an old school trainer to what you call juicers will improve greatly. I have wor...
