Contact Owner?
I was attempting to claim a horse at the Del Mar meet. The horse scratched but I am still interested in purchasing the horse. I made an offer to the trainer and he turned down the offer. Trainer wants the claiming price. I want to purchase for less, as there is a reason the track vet scratched the h...

A court case brought by Jerry Jamgotchian against the state of California resulted in the overturn of the jail rule there. I have to agree with him---it's a property rights issue, which supercedes any "rights" the track may assume. However, the ruling is good only in CA. It will take an action in o...

Racing Secretary/Papers/In Jail
If I want to move a horse that is " In Jail " off a claim. Can the racing secretary at the track where she was claimed REFUSE to give the new owner ( me ) her papers. I have no intention of trying to go around the " jail " rule, but want to move the horse to a different track in a different state. I...

Transportation from Golden Gate to Fair Grounds
Looking to bring a horse from Golden Gate in California to The Fair Grounds in New Orleans, Louisiana. Looking for references from those who have transported their horses long distances. Don't mind hearing from the " stay away from" as well. I have a quote from Hubbard Horse Transport at $1550. They...

Claim a Louisiana bred
Is there anyway to monitor when and where Louisiana bred horses are entered in races outside of Louisiana. The one site that I found ( L.T.B.A. ) runs a week behind on the entries.

Looking To Purchase
Would like to purchase a 2 or 3 year old in training. Prefer Louisiana bred, but that is not a deal breaker. Would also consider entering into a partnership or purchasing a percentage of a young horse which has started and shown ability/promise. Please no " back yard" breeders who are in love with t...

Thanks to all who offered advice here and through PM. I am not a breeder and don't know much about the process. I have made the decision that I will give her to a breeder or a responsible person who would like to breed. If I can't find a "breeder" home for her, then I will give her to a rescue or pl...

Thank you for the clarifacation, she has a 1/2 sibling who does not have this trait. I asked the people at LSU if that was a posibility, and they said not very likley. How would you determine such a thing. Her dam was one heck of a race horse. Believe 27 races and over $600,000 in winnings, was Cham...
