Go read "Hot Blood" too. Horses being killed for insurance has been going on forever, from the guys who burned their barns to the guys who broke horses' legs for $. And it is still going on today. The guys are only caught when the insurance companies do their own investigations and take the evidence...

Listen to the previous poster. Dex can cause laminitis and founder. Azium is not as potent as it is given orally, but it also can cause founder. After what my mare experienced (not IR) I would never give a horse dex unless it was the only thing that could save it. The vet who gave my mare a dex shot...
