I faced this last year. A bred maiden mare was turned out with two mares and foals. The young mare had been with the other two mares before they gave birth so they knew each other. The young mare was completely dominant over the other two mares, before the foals and after. She was not mean or aggres...

I have seen him and he is correct and well mannered. He should bulk up a bit in his new job. I think he is very fairly priced and the Shadwell crew always do everything possible to make sure your mare is well covered.

If any of you are going to be at the sale Monday afternoon through Wed, stop by and see this guy. He will be in Barn 15 - can't be any more convenient than that! Thanks.

Jane, the quality of the mares was down. Most will probably head out of the state to regional markets and state breeding programs. Any foals sold out of these mares in KY will certainly drive the sire averages down, which will really impress Keeneland when it comes to placing the other yearlings by ...

This is one sharp colt or I wouldn't mention him here. Like to hear what you all think of the pedigree. Thanks.

My guess is he will have 45 mares pregnant to him for 2008 crop. Just wasn't well received here. I have a mare in foal to him. At one level, Danzig stallions have produced a couple of nice Group I winners from Polar Falcon mares, and at another level: "Anabaa brings together the good Danzig/Sharpen ...

Good question bdw. Maybe Congaree will carry on in his daddy's place. I happen to have a Congaree foal that is one of the sharpest I've had the pleasure to be associated with. He's is the KeeNov sale. Out of a Halo mare who is out of an Herbager mare. Extrtraordinary conformation, smart as a whip, a...

Green Hills, I was more or less echoing what you had already said. Seems we are in agreement! Skeenan, a yearling in a round pen with an unskilled horseman can be a disaster. There are few who have the skill and patience to use the pen well. I know of two - and I am not one of them! I just hand walk...

Anyone interested in racing thoroughbreds would be far better off wisely shopping the Keeneland sale with over 5,500 yearlings catalogued than to try to breed their own (this from a breeder who is totally disgusted with the sales right now and is thinking about changing directions). The biggest conc...

North Light has matured physically since he entered stud. I bred a mare to him first year and have a very attractive foal now. Correct (NOT back at the knee), great angles, pretty head, elegant. The mare is by an older Northern Dancer stallion and is out of a Graustark mare - check out Mozart and Ru...
