Thanks, LB, and best to you as well with your foal! If the Hard Spuns are anything like their daddy, they'll be some gritty, tough, versatile racehorses. I'm hoping those traits manage to continue on for another generation.

Hard Spun foal

Out of our mare Entendu. She was a late Jan/early Feb baby if I remember correctly. See link and check out new photos under mobile uploads: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/AJ-Suited-Racing-Stable/107716879253327 The mare is up for sale at FT November because we've gotten a little more broodmare-hea...

We'll certainly be taking a look at him! Granted, it was the cross with War Chant that drew me to Zifzaf specifically, but the mare's produced some solid horses, so can't not look at that point in the sale.

Best of luck with your own hunting!

Hey everyone, just couldn't resist posting this. One of my posts here on the forum apparently was noticed by the person who did an interview with me in advance of Zifzaf running in the Woodbine Mile. I thought you guys might get a kick out of it as I did. http://woodbineentertainment.com/woodbinemil...

Hey Bargainblueblood, Cherokee is training at Belmont right now and should run sometime there in mid-September. The two races at Saratoga were enough to require a bit of a rest afterward. We're just looking for the right spot for him because for whatever reason he seems to make his own bad luck. I'm...

First of all, thanks to everyone for the suggestions! Kimberley, you've always had good ideas and Langfuhr was actually fairly high on my list. I like the Danzig cross and as you say, he does get a lot of flat out runners. The family could use that type of sire I think since DWD's family (as mention...

The reason we've been with one trainer the whole time we've been in the business is that he's gotta be one of the best around for staying in contact. I talk with him for 10-30 minutes every day to get a rundown on how our horses are doing. It makes being an active part of the business so much more v...

Need for Speed

We have two mares we are going to be breeding next season, Doo Woppa Do and Impulsive (by Dynaformer), and both are big, strong types that could use an infusion of speed. They just don't write enough races for these types anymore! Anyway, since both carry Dynaformer close up, I have some ideas that ...

LB, I have some that were sent by the farm in June or so, but at the moment the scanner here isn't working. When I get those scanned in, I'll send 'em over. The most recent ones that we have otherwise are from April at this link. http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?ai ... 6879253327

BTW, just saw your comment, da hossman...I'm also seeing that Hard Spun doesn't appear to be stamping his foals too much in general. They're a pretty diverse bunch.

LB, just saw this and glad to hear your Hard Spun is coming along well! I think our filly is progressing nicely as well. She's very sturdy and well-put-together, which sounds increasingly like what Hard Spuns are generally proving to be. Hopefully, there are at least a few nice looking 2 year olds n...

Our 2yo filly, Sunlight Sonata makes her first start on grass tomorrow and looks pretty solid in there. The biggest question will be the distance, as the mornings have already shown she likes the surface. Would love to win a race at the Spa!

Thanks guys! We were indeed out there today and had a great time. He got pushed outside just a tad in the stretch and that might have been the nose or so he was beaten by, but we're happy nonetheless. I think he'll be a pretty solid horse with the right placement, so now our task is to find out wher...

Hey Rumple, we found out after the race that the starter was worried about the horse next to us and didn't get our horse straightened out when the gate opened. Johnny said he'd been yelling at the guy to get our horse squared away, but he never did, and before he ever got in stride he was pretty muc...

Thanks Onalimb! She ended up finishing 4th, but got a good education and probably with a little better surface and some more ground she should improve. On to Saratoga!
