I think LB is right though. If a farm has to lie about the number of mares a stallion has seen, then it's obvious the stallion isn't being well-received and there's probably an obvious reason for that. I can see why maybe a regional market might be more susceptible to something like this, but if con...

Thanks, P.

At this point, I want to add stamina to what she has. As she's gotten older, we've actually taught her to come off the pace and win, where in the past, she was all speed and if she found herself breaking slow, she was useless in the race.

While I think she might be an interesting broodmare for some inbreeding/line-breeding aspects, her first dam is free of blacktype. The second dam has one stakes winner and is the granddam of a stakes-placed winner in Germany. With that said, this mare's sire is a half-brother to Honour and Glory and...

There's probably a great chance Einstein goes to South America. I hope not but they'll find him really attractive.

There's a Spend a Buck son in LA. Pico Central was also in Florida but I believe he's in Korea now. His oldest are 2.

It's one thing to "Want" her to run, it's another to call out her connections for not being "sportsmanlike" for keeping the best interest of the horse first. Azeri deserves respect. But Azeri also won her HOY title in what was one of the weakest handicap divisions ever. She's the only female HOY tha...

Oh, and it should be pointed out that Azeri never beat the boys. I'm not even sure she ever raced them. So her "status" was accomplished "playing it safe" in your mind.

You certainly don't know if she'd hit the board. And Sweet Symphony is a one time G1 winner. She's yet to have a foal go to the sales. Antespend is still talked about today, especially with Friends Lake in the mix as a young stallion. And her Distorted Humor was from his first crop and was the highe...

By the time her second foal gets to the sale most of the buyers will have forgotten who she was if she only races against fillies, so if she loses a few it really won't make an economic difference, and doubly so if the foals run as homebreds. That's just not true. Most of the sales toppers are out ...

I'm one who's doubting her ability to get 10f. I think she's an extremely talented filly, very possibly the best 3yo filly this year, but she's run against second tier horses at best, and has really yet to be pressed by anything of quality. I think they should try her in the Arkansas Derby. Even tho...

Re: Spend a Buck, his female family is still not respected. You can pick up decent producers from this immediately family for next to nothing at sales. And the sales companies relegate them to the back of every sale. It's actually a stronger family than they get credit for. They trace back to Adarga...

I always liked the sale from a buyers perspective. You could get some nice deals on quality yearlings. Of course, there was a lot of trash, as well. Quite a good portion of KeeSept outs/rna's also made it into the sale. Wonder if this will drive down the reserve prices even more at Keeneland for tho...

He favors his sire in angles but looks much larger and rangier like a stayer, which I imagine comes from his broodmare sire. I always thought Stravinsky was vastly underrated and is turning into a good broodmare sire. This guy looks like a nice prospect for Indiana breeders.

Breeding Sprinters to Stayers

I know there's an old saying about breeding like to like aptitude-wise, but do most people adhere to that still? I have a mare who's a very fast stakes-winning sprinter who's won in soft company going 7.5f on the turf. I really want to add bottom to her and was thinking of breeding her to a turn tur...

Which is what I was saying. Dosage is useless if you (general you) have any type of pedigree knowledge. Saying she is going to get the distance because she has a favorable dosage profile is like saying bet on a horse because it has a pretty tail. She's not my Derby horse but she may very well end up...
