I got goosebumps watching that race. This horse is a ton of fun to watch operate. At the fractions he clicks off, the last 1/16 or so is all heart.

The anticipation is starting to build...... by July 1st, I start my excited countdown! I know some folks complain that the heavy state-bred action has diluted the racing a bit, but for me.....I'd rather be in Saratoga in the summer than any vacation spot in the world....... couple of drinks at the H...

I think the sales market found some footing last month @ the Timonium sale. I thought the numbers were pretty solid. Coincides with the equity and commodity markets improving substantially since last fall.

Wolfson and some other So. Fl. trainers got very indignant at Beyer's "supertrainer" article earlier this year. I realize it's not a "serious" med violation, but every edge helps in racing....every little edge.....and they certainly add up. There's a link on a DRF blog showing Wolfson has 4 medicati...

In reviewing my catalog this weekend, I found the NY Breds really jumping out at me. I think it's a nice example of what a state breeding program can do if there is a well-defined state-bred incentive. I know from a racing angle some feel that maybe NY has gone overboard with state-breds ....especia...

Timonium sale....

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a nice catalog of pedigrees this year? Always a few interesting horsesin the sale, but I'm impressed this year. Could be that the weak previous yearling/juvi. sales have forced horses that would normally sell in Keeneland or OBS to still be available.

I really liked Proud Spell and was fortunate enough to be at the Alabama when she and Music Note went head to head for what seemed like the entire stretch. The Spa was electric as the two great fillies put on a tremendous show. There was still a buzz in the crowd as people left the track and wandere...

Re: sale

We went to watch tonight and I thought some very nice horses sold pretty cheap. Some had trouble bringing their original stud fee. People who were buying picked up some bargains. Hip 66 only brought $25k. Vindication o/o a real nice producing mare. Must have looked awfully bad in person to only fet...
