Did you really just compare Rachel to Precious Passion?
Seriously though, I think your point about both camps playing the "game" well is dead on. As they say in politics, now it is all up to getting out the vote!

Jimble, In junior high I once outscored a future NBA player in a game. Should that have been held against the NBA-er when he was drafted? Because that is the equivilent of the horses who beat Rachel when she was a 2YO. She hasn't been beaten this year and we are talking about this year. And until Sa...

George, Regardless of whether any horse has won HOY without going 1 1/4, I think your point is valid in that it is traditionally the barometer for champions. Check to Zenyatta. However, to be fair, the barometer for champions is also typically weighted toward one particular surface: dirt. Check to R...

Offlee Wild
I would be interested in people's thoughts on Offlee Wild. He is #7 on the first crop list, has two stakes winners, and 4 SHs. But basically with half as many two year olds as everybody else.
Could he be the real deal? Just trying to look at next year and maybe trying to find a value somewhere.

NYBS question
Does anyone know where I could find out sales results from past NYBS sales. Their website does not have any information and bloodhorse.com does not seem to list the results either. In particular, I am looking for the results from the auction of stallion seasons last year. Thank you

Jenny, I agree with you completely. I would argue that the answer is that if you breed it, then it is your responsibility to make sure it has a good home. If you sell it to someone, they then take on that responsibility. If it is claimed from the track, the new owner takes that responsibility. Such ...

I really think everyone who breeds or races horses has a responsibility to see to it that each horse has a home after their career is over. I do not disagree with the idea of humanely destroying horses in theory, I just think that greed has caused us to overbreed. I have been advocating (to myself m...

The ultimate answer, or non-answer, given as he is already considered one of the greats, is Alydar. It is hard to decide if both Affirmed and Alydar's historical judgement is helped or hurt by the other. Affirmed is always mentioned in the same breath as Alydar, somewhat minimizing his accomplishmen...

Spring at Last
I am very interested in Silver Deputy and his offspring for one of our mares. Does anyone have a guess of what Spring at Last may stand for when he enters next year? I have my own guess, but I would be interested to hear what others think. I would love to go to SD or Posse, but I am afraid both may ...
