Jorge & Color enthusiasts -
Is this yet another "white" thoroughbred to ad to the growing numbers?-
Saw this in the Equine. Now banner ads today: "Driftwood" - a 17H "White Thoroughbred gelding" well trained in dressage, per the ad. (Not sure if this is the same "Driftwood" listed in this database of recent vintage and descended from Vaugely Noble?)

The 'Driftwood' you're referring to is a brown gelding, bred in New Zealand and showing no record of export.
There are actually two 1994-model 'Driftwood's, but both are mares - a US-bred bay and an Ireland-bred chestnut. This fellow's registered name must be something different.
For what it's worth, he looks like a normal grey to me - you can see darker hair on his legs. The ad describes him as 'white with grey'.

could have the same name--name could have been released
I just found out from the Jockey Club that they release names after horse is 10 years old and name has not been used for racing or breeding the previous 5 years.
