"if allowed" is the important part of your statement. Given that IAEH is all about making $$$, I doubt that Big Brown races again.

The plain fact of the matter is, BB is not bred to get a mile and a half, and clearly, did not stay the distance on Saturday. His sire was a sprinter and his grandsire was a miler not generally known for breeding horses that stay much beyond a mile or 10f.

This is a mediocre crop of 3yos compared to last year, and BB is the best of a bad bunch. The times of the three races, the BSFs, and Ragozin #s don't lie.

Unfortunately we will never know for sure if Big Brown can get 12 furlongs or not. I personally am of the opinion that he has the pedigree to do so, and believe his performance on Saturday last was an aberration. Additionally, we don't know for sure if Boundary could route, since he was never tried beyond 7 furlongs, and as to Danzig not siring any endurance, don't forget Danzig Connection who won the Belmont Stakes in 1986 over John's Treasure and Ferdinand.

Indeed! The lack of insight by many on this forum is both appalling and frightening as they not of what they speak more often then not and yet have the loudest voice(s).

You have all asked that this be a nicer place. Yet several of you continue to talk down to other posters, belittle their opinions, and call them names. I realize I don't have the new rules posted yet, but common sense would dictate that perhaps you all should not be "speaking" to eachother in the same general manner which others have been scorned for...

Let's just play nice, please.

Thanks!

And where does slanderous type statements fit in all this? Over the years many statements that border on slander have been made on these forums about people involved with race horses..... yet that seems okay while supposed name calling regarding such outrageous accussations is unacceptable?

I don't think BB is "great" and I am thrilled that he didn't win the Belmont for reasons outside of the horse, but I have said, on multiple occasions, I think he's the best horse in his crop.

I feel like many BB supporters are taking the lashings the connections have been receiving on this forum, personally. I will only speak for myself and say they really have very little to do with the horse, himself.

As I said, his accomplishments SHOULD be heralded.

With that said, emotions always run high after a big race and I hope most of the long term posters here, with a ton of industry experience, wont be so quick to jump on what appears to be a newbie.

Let posts like these go ignored. They're usually made in a rash and emotional state.

Agreed. Let the 'so knowledgeable' horsie types talk trash. It fits them... so well. :D

"FLOP" was so over hyped by the trainer and the media.... 'another Secretariat'.. so they called him.. before reality visited. No.. I can't say the trainer called him another 'Big Red'.. but sure basked in the light of such comparisons.

"FLOP" is in reality a moniker for the game itself.. the manner is which it's being played. BB is just a example of chems, hype and naive money thrown at that ownership for fees. Purely comedy.. the gullible getting screwed.

There's a segment of flamers around these parts.. laughable really. Unoriginal.. low end types... just parroting and recycling age old swipes. For this vein the analogy is simple:

Go visit a hog farm confinement operation.... the stink is enough to bowl one over.. those living on site ask... 'what smell'? The small time flamers around here are of that ilk... what smell in horse racing today??

Horse racing today is becoming something like boxing.. seedy & dishonest.. owned by the mob [unlike racing?]... it has that odor. Big money.. chems.. the hell with the horse flesh.. it's only an animal. Yet lacking respect for the athlete for which the game hinges on means the dead nell for the game.

If the DEMS get elected.. if.. one might see PETA issues get much more play in congress. That 'house of fools' stands for so little.. these media issues attract attention. The possibility of the gov getting involved is out there.

HORSE PEOPLE NEED TO CLEAN UP THEIR OWN YARD.. FOR ONCE. BEFORE THE FOOLS DO...........
