Jockey Calendar WOO HOO

Postby toadie » Fri May 27, 2011 4:39 pm

I got negative reactions posting this on another forum, but I think it's cool. Barbara Livingston's usual stunning photography, fit athletic guys not wearing shirts, proceeds going to the PDJF, awesome! All the jockeys donated their time.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion sometimes I wish people would just listen to Bambi's mother

what exactly did bambi's mom say? I kinda ran out the theater when they shot the mom lol. tragic experience for me at 4 years old, don't remember anything else in the movie.

they had this on HRTV today. they showed a pic of mike smith and millie said "damn" lol.

surprised at how many have tats though.

From a bodybuilding standpoint, most of them really aren't what you would call ripped, they are just skinny men with very low bodyfat. We call that the "runner's body" so to speak. Not a body I would personally strive for. Calvin borel actually has some muscle on him which is surprising to be that small.

Bambi's mother said if you haven't got something nice to say, don't say anything.

Bambi's mother clearly doesn't post on this forum . . .

And btw, bdw, I didn't know bodybuilding was the only standard by which to judge male attractiveness.

Me, I like runners' bodies just fine.

Ditto. I don't really like looking at guys who are freakishly ripped from excessive body building. I always wonder if they're overcompensating for something.

I will, but not going to get in a hurry for something for 2012. Recovering from surgery, I'd just like to get through the next 2 months

bdw, I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just sayin' that there are guys who look like steriod-bound halter horses & there are guys who look like if they were horses, they'd be able to compete at the classic distances . . . don't hate me for preferring guys who can go the distance.

A lot of people love that muscled-out, halter horse look.

Me, my personal preference - not so much muscle-boundness.

(And I probably will buy the calander, but as toadie said - I really DON'T need a 2012 calendar yet . . .)

But more to the point, I like that the money goes to the permanently disabled jockey's fund & that really over-rides all other considerations.

I didn't say that. I said I don't like guys who are "freakishly ripped from excessive body building." In my mind, there's a big difference between a healthy level of fitness and narcissistic self-worship.

Besides, I'd put a jockey's fitness level and athleticism up against practically anyone's. They have to be strong and have great balance and and have terrific reflexes and have plenty of stamina.

What's not to like about a body with those capabilities? :)
