From a historical perspective the importance of Ellerslie cannot be understated.

A Confederate Captain Richard Hancock served under General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. After the war, Hancock married Thomasia Harris, whose family owned a farm near Charlottesville, Virginia, called Ellerslie. The former Confederate officer eventually began to breed and raise Thoroughbred racehorses at Ellerslie. One of his and Thomasia’s four sons, Arthur B., founded Claiborne Farm in 1910 in Paris, Kentucky.

Thanks for the story and the link to "Horse racing Business" ,which I found very interesting. Shame about the court case involving the property ,it's amazing how quickly fortunes fade in racing through economic hardships or the passing of the main characters.

Not to forget as well the fame and fortune of Nydrie Stud. I believe Natalma was foaled there. Alas the Van Clief's went to Ky as well. It was on he market some time ago, but not sure what happened.

Seems logical that the folks with the greatest interest in the old family homestead would be the surviving Hancocks.

Shammy - you and Griff wanna go in together and buy the old Ellerslie and return it to its former glory? Would have to get some acres back from Trump though...
