Hyperbaric Chamber tragedy this morning at Kesmarc Ocala.
Just after 9am ET this morning I felt a shudder go through the air like nothing before ,not thunder nor limerock blasting . It carried for miles around here in the Morriston area near Ocala and it wasn't long before news filtered through the horse community about a massive explosion of a Hyperbaric Chamber at the Kesmarc Facility which was the old Farnsworth Farm. A 29 yr old woman lost her life and another 33 yr old lady was airlifted to Shands in Gainesville with serious injuries when the chamber exploded killing the horse inside. Horses were shuttled out of the facility as damage to the barn was extensive, if you browse Ocala.com you can learn more. Just Awful!

I happen to be familiar with high % oxygen/O2 use and hyperbaric chambers as I used to be involved in some really deep technical scuba diving. There is much more involved in hyperbaric chamber ops than just steel/metal contact.
Divers using high O2 levels are trained to know how dangerous any = grease presence is on any fittings or any dirt actually. There are protocols for cleaning oxygen suitable equipment. Also the speed of releasing oxygen is very important as anything that creates a "bottleneck" is potentially explosive.
Also the hyperbaric chamber heats up very quickly as being pressurized - that can upset a horse, and I don't even go into the need to compensate the pressure in ears/sinuses - not even all divers can do it on command - how about horses who don't understand what is happening?
I would be interested in seeing a link to op procedure of a hyperbaric chamber that treats horses.

This might help you find some additional information, Travis.
