The idea is if PERHAPS when the weather gets so bad that the jockeys and horses can't see well, or its ankle deep in mud, maybe they should not think about putting the betting machines first and think about the lives of the jockeys and the horses.

Comment makes sense when people on here talking about track conditions and regulations. As your comment right here regarding track being shut down if not safe they already do that guess you dont watch many races huh?

Well huh, I do. In fact I was watching last week a race where two horses lost their lives in a horrible accident because the track was such a mudhole you could not see the colors of the jockeys silks, nor the colors of the poor horses. The track was so bad, yet they still were running it as the rain was pouring down. I've also seen races where it was snowing so bad the announcer could not call the damn race because he could not SEE the horses.

Maybe a bit more regulation for the safety of both the jockeys and the innocent horses would prevent these tragedies. That's why the sport has such a bad reputation. We have so many breakdowns on dry days, why risk lives on very bad weather conditions? At least some owners and trainers care enough to scratch their horses on days such as these.

Poor horses. They died covered with mud. They deserved better.
