Thank you Maureen. Was trying to get a direct link to it but I can't from my phone.
Griff....these guys definitely would have doubled their profit o purchase of !ackstreet Bully. These people are not the ones that a re making the 12.00 a lb roughly it ends up once it crosses to the Uk. No reason they couldn't have sold him back. Lord knows, sadly another to fill his shoes that isn't wanted. HE WAS!

This horse was one that went through Adena's Rehoming program. I'm sure Adena's adoption requires some sort of first right of refusal, or option to return if the horse does not work out. I hope Adena also persues this, as many government agencies are now involved. This plant knowingly slaughtered, for human consumption, this horse, even after Adena faxed them the vet records, indicating all of the prohibited drugs!
There had better be some heads rolling over this, starting with the person who sent him on this journey.
While you are on Transisiton page, check out the story of Press Exclusive. This was a mare who earned almost $500,000 on the track, had produced winners, had a yearling recently sell for $10,000, and then was dumped, at 16 years old, because ? I paid the full bail on this mare, plus some, because I own her daughter Jumptoconclusions, who is the sweetest, kindest 17.2h of a mare, and just couldn't let this happen to her dam. Just have a look at the pictures of what this mare had happen to her. You will cry.

Here is the link to the story on Backstreet Bully. Totally needless for him to have been processed.
There is definitely much going on due to this unnecessary kill. There will be much to answer for....
Maureen, I know you are watching, as am I.

This entire situation makes me ill. These horses trust people, and then these same people kill them. And to get to that point, from what I've read, is mercy on these poor animals.
I've always said, all animals are at human's mercy. And its true. It pisses me the hell off too.

The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...
Also the former Mrs. Alan Paulsen who after he passed, Madeleine married a multi billionaire Texas oilman. (sorry its early I can't remember his name despite receiving a letter from him) Lucky eh? But she has done so much for all horses and got the killing of our wild mustangs stopped being slaughtered. She has done so much is is a huge friend of the horses. Money is great when used for the proper reasons. I'd do the same thing. Being born an innocent horse does not mean if they are unwanted, do not run too fast, etc, etc. etc, does not mean they should be killed!
OK the brain cells are waking up: She married Mr. Boone Pickens, and I'm sure he gave her an endless supply of money to do this. I thank them both

This is sick, pure sick. Please DO find out who is responsible for this gallant horses' slaughter, we would like to know their name and also how to get in touch with them.
If a horse is sick, old, and it has come time to go to the Rainbow Bridge, then give them a shot, send them to Heaven in a dignified way, they way they deserve. Not shoot something into their heads, hang them by their feet, many times still half alive, until their throats are slashed.
Horse racing needs to much more about this problem, and its a BIG PROBLEM.
If some people pay 10 million for ONE horse, think about what all that money could do for all the rest of the horses. This industry is ass backwards.
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......
Thank you Briarhalo. There NEEDS to be more like you. There NEEDS to be more rules and regulations for breeding. HOW many thousands of new foals are born each year? Of course with that many horses there is an overload of them. To get them to the track is one thing, to get them to be successful is another. When watching a race, which I have greatly cut down on, I look at the horses in the back, trying their hearts out, but they just can't do it. What's to say they won't be successful in other aspects of the horse world?? That should not mean to KILL them. Sure, I've been called this past week by many farms interested in my Slew girl. NOT. She's had 2, and that's because that is all we can handle. If I were to get any more it will be ones that are already on this earth, needs a loving home.
The people who think its "OK" to slaughter, I dare you, DARE you to go and watch your horse get slaughtered. Then we will see how you feel.
This slaughter situation just pisses me the hell off so bad I want to scream.
Sickos!

This is the slaughterhouse that refused to co-operate. Note that they claim to trace their products from farm to plate....apparently that still doesn't stop them from killing an animal known to have drugs in its system!
