Anyone know how to contact him, if it's possible?
He ran a horse in his last start; I am trying to track this horse down...needle in a haystack journey and my gut tells me he's dead, but I'd like to know for sure if possible, and if he's not, it will be a miracle. Last start was several years ago in Columbus NE.
If anyone can assist please message me or email to [email protected]

Hi Shannon,
Contact Shannon Luce, JC Communications Coordinator at [email protected]. She will let you know if there is a death certificate on file for the horse in question. Trainer WF Conyers last ran a horse on 3-12-2011 at Oaklawn Park and hasn't had an entry since. The horses name would be helpful and could be tracked down through the last owner or his breeder since the trainer is currently inactive. TJ
Thank you, I will give that a try! I know the breeder has no info on him, owner at last start was Larry Bains. Horses name is Northern Pilot. I groomed him when he ran at Hastings, he went South to Oaklawn with the trainer, and was sold or claimed (can't remember), ran at Charlestown then ended up at the Nebraska track. I fear his life didn't end well, he seemed to have some soundness issues then poof, one last race and gone. It looks like both trainer and owner are no longer active either.

Hi Shannon,
Looks like you have it well researched. The only thing I can add is Bains claimed that horse from Maggi Moss. She was a lawyer (left that to take on owning horses full time) and an activist against horse slaughter. She is involved in many horse rescue projects as well. Possibly you could research her and see if you can find a number to her practice in Iowa or one of her rescue missions. I'm sure she would try to help you if she knows anything about this horse. TJ
