NON (PHALARIS) BMS LINES VANISHING

Postby louis finochio » Tue Oct 18, 2005 9:21 am

Out of the top 70 leading BMS only 10% are represented by non-(Phalaris) BMS. The 10 non-(Phalaris) BMS are:

(Prince Rose) Sire Line, Speak John---Meadowlake

(Fair Play) Sire Line, Relaunch---Valid Appeal---Smile

(Rabelais) Sire Line, Alleged---Pleasant Colony

(Dark Ronald) Sire Line, Surumu (GER)

(Domino) Sire Line, Broad Brush

(Teddy) Sire Line, Private Account

Louis, surely there are some Man O'War BMS lines left through In Reality.
Maybe not on the list, but out there for breeding.

Can't think of any right now, but someone else might have examples.

To Vineridge: Their are a prolific amount of MOW thru In Reality out and about in the BMS division. The fun of this research is to seek them out and have fun while doing the research.

This research project sure beats the fast lane of life, as pedigree research is an escape from the problems of the world. Go For It.

nonphalaris lines

Postby stancaris » Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:23 pm

It is interesting that only 3 of the top 25 sires (12%) as of Oct 15th in the Bloodhorse magazine have a nonphalaris sire line. However over 50% of the starters in the BC Classic carry at least one nonphalaris line (sire line or bms line and 16 of the 21 winners (76%) also carried at least one nonphalaris side. In general a nonphalaris side spells more stamina.

One MOW In Reality sire that is hot and definitely hitting here in Texas @ $17,500 stud fee is VALID EXPECTATIONS....his offspring are getting the top bids in the yearling sales and taking the regional stakes races while winning generally most of them to keep his progeny earnings figures quite healthy.

VALID EXPECTATIONS has been such a hit that his full brother Littleexpectations is getting attention at $3500. I haven't seen any of the Littleexpectations foals yet and not enough of the Valid Expectations foals to make broad statements but of the 10 or so Valid Expectations I have seen most generally don't look all that great to me as yearlings but boy do they mature into themselves/their frames at 2YO....and they CAN run!
The ones that do stand out as yearlings sell extremely well.

The TB breeders that want a fast return on their investment will place these 10 BMS on the back burner.

Those breeders are breeding for a fashion market place that has speed, and more speed. The problem is those breeders are throwing out soundness for a quick $ return. Thats why we are seeing the low stallions progeny's average starts lifetime.

When you breed both speed and stamina in your matings you are covering all bases, and bringing back the soundness in the breed.

Hi Jennifer: It took me 20 minutes to research the Vanishing Non-(Phalaris) BMS. Thats because I have all the sire lines in my memory bank.

I have been researching Sire Lines science 1973, when I started to research Nicking Patterns in TB.

I only work 4 hours a day as a vendor on the backstretch. The rest of the day I spend researching pedigrees.

I've paid my dues along the way as I worked 3 jobs for years, but now I am doing what I love to do.

If your nailed to the cross to a job that you dont adore, dont quit as your day will come.

BMS Sirelines

Postby Bettina » Thu Oct 20, 2005 1:41 am

Hallo,
in the case of the German Sireline of Dark Ronald I can add, that Surumu's sons like Platini, Acatenango and his son Lando, are alraedy appearing as Broodmare sires

During my researchs I became aware in my Homecountry the Bahram sireline is still existing via Persian Gulf-Tamerlane-Dschingis Kahn-Konigsstuhl-Monsun.

The Teddy Sireline was extended via Asterus-Magnat-Nebelwerfer-Kaiseradler and ended with Windwurf. An early bred son of Teddy in Germany was Aventin.

In South Africa, the Ribot-line stallions Coastal and Badger Land are both prominent. Another often seen is Mexico II through his son Harry Hotspur, who traces to the Ormonde branch of Bend Or. There are still some daughters and granddaughters of the South African export Wolf Power (Prince Rose via Round Table) who have made their way back to deepest darkest.

In Australia, the Star Kingdom line (Hyperion) is still kicking about in tail-male, and particularly through Bletchingly has become a major force in the BMS line. Danzig/Danehill over Bletchingly is a HUGELY successful cross.

By the way, over in the US don't forget Holy Bull (Himyar through Questionnaire).
