Josh Radosevich killed today at Beaulah

Postby Jenarby » Wed Nov 16, 2005 2:57 pm

He was only 16 years old. The start of a great career. One of his mounts brokedown this afternoon. Another horse trampled him when he went down. Just last night he was up here at MNR visiting with friends and family. Please put Josh and his family and friends in your prayers. This is so sad......

Saw that this morning on TVG. Went so fast I couldn't see what really happened. Very sad.

This is just incredibly horrible. Just last night my darlin Darren was sitting with Josh and 2 of his other friends between the 9th and 10th races - Josh was joking about having to hurry to get back to the Rec Hall to get his chicken sandwhich before it got cold or they gave it to someone else. He had his tack with him in his travel tote, Jami Poole grabbed his stick out of it and tapped him on the back of the head a few times, messing around with him. Paddock blacksmith Karl Meeks joked with Josh about getting his autograph before he got too famous to bother handing it out. Josh was LOVING what he was doing, riding and winning races and giving it his all.

Josh rode a horse for his parents in the first race today - his Mom ponied him in the post parade. I cannot imagine how devastated his parents are feeling now, as they surely must have struggled with the decision to let him ride races. Grandpa Joe trained, Dad Jake and Uncle Jeff both rode races and now train - this was a horseracing family.

My heart is just breaking for the Radosevich's - I cannot imagine their incredible sorrow.

Years ago when jockey George Wolf and jockey Alvaro Pineda were involved in a tragic accident that took their lives, I and my family were there when it happened.

When you see these young beautiful courageous people risk their lives to make a living it makes you appreciate life to the fullest.

May they all rest in peace as they wouldnt have wanted another less risked profession. Amen.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

It seems I don't get here that often anymore but, I had a phone call from a very dear friend telling me about Josh's death. You see, this friend is the Godmother to Josh's younger brother. Saying she was in a terrible state at the time of the call would be understating things. God Bless you Josh, your family and all those who lives you touched.

Jake trained several horses for us over the years. The whole family is wonderful... the kids were always very involved, even at a young age, and always very resposible and enthusiastic about what they were doing.

Does anyone know where flowers or gifts can be sent? We don't want to bother Jake and Shelly right now to get that information, but we'd like to send something to show that they're in our thoughts...

A young life cut short. Like many others, I've read several of the publications regarding this accident and his death. It's so terribly sad for everyone involved. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends, God Bless Josh...

My deepest sympathies are with the family . I could no imagine losing a child so young. My heart just sank to hear this.
