Roguelet Please

Postby chiggins6 » Sun Oct 24, 2004 9:07 pm

I'm not sure why you tolerate Edie slamming people on this board, and you seem to want us not to complain about it, but I have also thought you would delete her posts slamming people. She's said some really nasty uncalled for things about me and I am truly embarrassed that they are still on the board to be read. Maybe its all right wiht you to leave them up, but it makes my stomach sink and its not all right with me. I don't know how anyone else feels about what she says about them, or how they feel about her degrading nastiness remaining on the board, but I feel awful, and targeted by a bully. Its sort of like a teacher asking the kids picked on to tolerate the bully because the bully is so scary to remove from the group environment. Christ, Rogue, get rid of her, don't compare us to her, and get rid of her posts. Have you done a search on her personalities and seen the patterns of what she posts? Please.

For now, I am leaving. I don't contribute anything substantial anyway, and the atmosphere here is too PC for me. (Or should I say "politcally incorrect when it comes to trolls).

Am I missing something or what ?

What is all this talk about someone who isn't writing on here Edie ? I notice that her name keeps popping up on this board and the last one. But for the love of god I can not figue out who he/she is. Why is John , Sam , Bjl , Piper or whoever being blammed for beign Edie. And what on earth has he done so wrong? Chiggins im sorry but you are no angel you have been very rude and dissrespectful along with your freinds. I haven't seen any post that have been against you that deserves banning. I would like to see you and your friends stop all the controversy. And all your foul mouth talking and name calling.
Lighten up you guys, you are enjoying this way to much.

Roguelet when are you going to inforse the rules ? Don't have rules if you can not inforse them. No wonder this board has so many problems

chiggins and others, please send private messages to Roguelet with specifics on your concerns, so she has a place to start. She is not omniscient or everpresent, and is moderating this board as a volunteer.

See what I mean

Any time now Roguelet start doing your job. If you get rid of 6 poster
3 of which i bet are the same person. Then this board would not have any problems at all. Even before Jon was around they had filthy mouths.

Lets take a vote who wants to get rid of once and for all these 6 posters?

First, I want to apologize to everyone for the fact that there were offensive posts on here for apparenly most of the day yesterday. I agree that it would've been better if they had been removed immediately, but I do assure everyone that I dealt with it as soon as I saw it. Here are my excuses, and I swear I'm not even making any of them up!

1.) All of our phone lines were down yesterday. We got the business line working mid-day, and the one to the main room working last night, but the one going into the computer room STILL isn't working!

2.) Last night I hooked up the laptop to the main room phone line, and did some "maintenance," but every time I hit the letter "T" the computer would jump to capitals, the curser would change location, and about 10 symbols would appear. Messages would also disappear before I finished them, and I would have to start over. I even restarted the laptop but it didn't help... I finally gave up. (Incidentally, it's working fine this morning!)

3.) Yesterday was my kid's first day at preschool. I took him, stayed with him videotaping and getting pictures (OK, he's an only child so this was a big deal for us!), came home just long enough to get all the horses taken care of, then went back to pick him up, then I had a Dr's appt, and by the time I came home and finished the horses again, I just wanted to go to bed. I just thought I'd log on and check email since I could finally hook up the laptop, but ended up spending quite a bit of time online.

So, I do apologize for the delay in dealing with the offending posts, but I hope now everyone can see that it was not because I chose to leave them online for the world to see, rather because I simply did not see them until last night.

I don't see why you are apologizing for having a life. Yeah, there were some offensive posts, but there is no reason to think they won't be there for a little bit of time. You're one person and not online all day.

Rogulet-

No need for apologies, moderating a forum can at times, be time consuming - especially when it's not the *only* thing you have to do in life! :)

It's an easy choice for me, I just skip over them!

Roguelet, you are doing a great job!

Stop belly-aching people! If you have a complaint, be considerate enough to Roguelet to SPECIFICALLY call her attention to it in an email. Then she won't have to read every single post to determine what is o.k. and what is not.

Be adults. There needs to be rules that THE COMPLAINING PARTY or subject of the post MUST complain in writing directly via email, so there can be an efficient record of the complaint.

I would further suggest to Roguelet, that WHEN a poster DOES cross over the line, IT IS PUBLICLY POSTED THAT HE/SHE DID SO. 1) They deserve the embarrassment; 2) Others can learn by the example; 3) It SHOULD reduce the belly-aching about "how come he/she doesn't get admonished..." We could even start a "Demerit List"...

SUGGESTED:

Foul language (other than darn, damn, hell) = 1 Demerit

Accusing someone of being someone else = 2 Demerits
(IF YOU SUSPECT someone is using multiple or false identities, then email Roguelet.)

Calling someone foul names or making insulting comments about "intellect", personal, social, or business "status", "sexual preference", or some other sexual activity, etc. = 3 Demerits

Offenders should go on Demerit List and receive a warning email. When offender reaches 5 Demerits...GONE...OUTA HERE...BYE, BYE!!!!

Those that want name calling, nasty, get down in the mud kind of spice in a message board, perhaps need to start their own board and invite all the banished

I'm with Kal...such people are rude, boring, having nothing to contribute, gate-crashers! We can have fun and spice without attacking each other personally! IMO!

Rog...

An apology and excuse is not necessary. Most everyone is well aware by now that the board is "infected," and no one expects you to sit in front of the computer monitor 24/ 7 to delete the sick posts as they appear. You're doing an exceptionally fine job of keeping an extremely difficult person in check.

I agree with your point system BJ and especially with giving points to people who accuse people of being other people. With the exception of a few people who actually reveal their names in their profiles, this is an anonymous board. Who cares if so and so is so and so? Does it really affect your life in any great way? The only thing that is accomplished is disruption of the information flow. Maybe that's the point...

I heard that there is a big sale at Keeneland next month and stud fees are being announced daily. Isn't there something horse related we can chat about instead of always falling into this pit?

To that end, does anyone else think that farms are getting awfully aggressive with stud fees? Since when did $30-50,000 become the lower part of the midrange? Yeah the summer sales were eyecatching as was the first half or so of Keeneland. Then came the second half and the October sales for the cold splash of reality. A lot of horses couldn't sell for less than their current stud fees. Now I understand that everyone can't be profitable but these sales never seem to be taken into account when they set the fees-- only a few selling at the top. I guess it's what the market will bear and all and I've already been told "We'll deal" on one stallion I looked at but what a shell game.

When it became acceptable for horses like Empire Maker with mediocure race records to command $100k.

Republican in the white house ... six figure stud fees. Hold on to your hats, people. It'll only get worse.
