It has to be either Skimming or Tribal Rule unless one of the others steps up and has a Breeders Cup winner. They both have 60 or more foals--everyone else is 30 foals or below.

My guess? Tribal Rule, then Skimming and then Richly Blended.

I'm gonna go with Skimming who probably saw some nice mares due to his race record and excellent pedigree. Height didn't stop his daddy or granddaddy from being good sires.

I'd pick High Demand second. People have said some nice things about his foals.

Lastly Trible Rule. He's the lone Storm Cat on the list (hey, how'd you Californians do that  ) and I'm imagining he got some good support just due to that and he's a half to one of my faves Key Phrase.

Ditto!

I've heard tell that Tribal Rule definitely got some good support. Have seen some of his yearlings. Good looking. It will be *interesting*, to say the least, to watch who does the most with what they got to work with.

Tribal Rule was an absolutely brilliant racehorse. Unfortunately, he was also extremely fragile. If his babies can keep it together soundness-wise, he should do well.

SKIMMING #1.... since he has bred consistantly over 90 mares and will be well supported. He was a speed horse who could carry it at a distance and most of the foals look speedy, at least the ones I have seen...we have one comming and will be breeding another mare back to him.

RICHLY BLENDED #2....again he and his family full of speed...especially at 2. He has consistantly bred 40 to 55 mares, mostly by his owners who again should be supporting him.....just sent a mare off to him the other day...tried last year but she wouldn't take. I have seen many of his foals. VERY NICE !
GREAT BONE, correct, quarter horse looking, big BUTTS and great temperment :) Speed, Speed, Speed,

#3 not sure either HIGH DEMAND or TRIBLE RULE....both have been bred to lots of mares both will be well supported also. Not sure about either passing on early speed...may produce late maturers, from looking at their race records and family.

Trible Rule by a whole lot. He was a very talented & fast racehorse & in being by Storm Cat & half to a G1 winner & 3/4 to the fastest sprinting son of SC so far in Yankee Gentlemen (who has gotton off to a super start at the sales) he has the pedigree. If I lived in Cal I would breed every mare I owned to either him or Benchmark.

I'll give y'all another way to rank these stallions. Who's likely to produce the soundest individuals on the whole? Nijinsky pointed out great bone for Richly Blended I noticed. Based on the pedigrees and the stallions themselves (and any offspring you might've seen) who's gonna throw the soundest progeny?

Skimming

Postby George William Smith » Sun Feb 05, 2006 10:10 pm

My GRA predictive program [first part of GRASP, without the Stud Performance], says it will be Skimming. Tribal Rule gets very little speed points because it took him until age 5. Lots of colts if they stayed racing would have been able to run the 1:08.80 he did.

Both have serious soundness questions that need to be considered when breeding "every mare you own" to them.

In my opinion, yeah, he was more talented and faster than those two. Did you ever see him run? He could FLY. His connections thought he could win the BC Sprint. So, was he more talented and faster? I think so. But was he as accomplished? Certainly not.

No I never saw him run.....I don't deny he had speed 1:08 4/5 by 8 lengths and 1:09 by 5. But he didn't start till he was 4 and only one start at that.....with 4 starts total. NOT SOUND and like BJ said soundness is going to be an issue with this guy his whole family is unsound, not only with Storm Cat but his dam side.
