Here is a very interesting pedigree. Her name is TOPACIO (bay M 1985) and it happens that she is the second dam of recent stakes winner GLORIFICATION (gray filly by Buddha ---perhaps his first stakes winner!)

Wow, time passess by. Its been more than a year (January 2007) since this thread was posted and became very popular with around 10 pages of responses. Any new case or update?

(p.s. The same with a very popular topic on rare tail-male lineages once posted. But cannot find it.)

ok most of you know I am pedigree inept and came here to get ideas to breed my mare. I was told that finding Black Polly in the 4th generation was rare.

I'm definitely pedigree-challenged, too, Lazyf....but I hear that being tail-female to Lalun is a rarity these days....my mare, Naskra Dance is.

I found this one on another thread courtesy of Jorge. A male line descedant of Native Dancer not through Raise A Native and a gray to boot.

Dear Nessa,

Thank you very much for your posting. Searching more extensively on
Iron Warrior I also came across another paternal half brother to Roan Warrior. His name is Dancers Ghost and he is even a sire:

I wasn't aware of this extension of Iron Warrior's gray lineage.

This one is interesting but maybe not in a good way. This mare's sire and dam are by the same horse...and she's a 2004 model born to a 2001 dam.

The best part is her name: Mybrothersdaughter!

I don't know quite how rare this is but how often does Forli show up as broodmare sire in a recent pedigree.

Hmmm, how about finding the case with the highest number of doses from Plucky Liege (dam of Sir Gallahad III, Bull Dog just to mention a couple of names)?

I found a Star Kingdom/Nholme II sire line - Second Officer (2002 h)

also a Hyperion line sire (thoguh I fear he is dead & no son bred on):
Tormentoso (Arg) (76 h) (Artonador-Atlas-Arostophanes-Hyperion)

A son of Tormentoso also has Bull Lea in the 3rd generation!
Tormented Lad (91 c)

Well, this isn't rare, but it is unusual. A lot of old blood up close on the dam's side.
