Joe wrote:Maybe this is a crazy idea, and I wouldn't mind if you called me crazy for it if it makes no sense. However, it's never been tried. How about a CA stallion, who spends a month or so in CA and then is shipped to somehwere like PA, where slots are now legal.

Actually, it has been tried (though not the CA to PA route)

Snowbound spent part of his season in WA (?) and then the last 3 months in AZ a few years ago.

His knees are level with SS's and just about as pretty, and the going away shot I didn't know who's buns to watch, each striding out just as lovely as the other! Good video, what's the fee for the handler, and is that live cover? :D

Man, that's the biggest chuckle I've had so far today!

You gals are such sexist pigs!!! LOL. I'll be sure to pass along your comments to Joe Tevis, the object of your lust. I'm sure his WIFE will be very interested in your appraisal of his conformation. BTW, Joe is a cribber, but the horse isn't.

re: split seasons. Most states, including California, preclude stallions from standing in two states in one season as a condition of their incentive program. To remain eligible, a horse must remain in the state for the entire breeding season. A few years ago the California rule was amended to allow 'shuttle stallions' to travel out of country for half the year, but they must return if their owners wish to collect stallion awards. The good horse Urgent Request was sent to Australia from California a few years ago, and for some reason never returned. His owner thus forfeited a nice sum in awards.

Good point Michael, I wasn't aware of that. I guess that nixes anything on those lines, but it was a thought, especially with slots in PA. We have 2 trainers at Philly who work out in CA. Randy Allen claims there and ships here to run. Clifford Sise Jr. has a stable here and often brings CA horses here, He brought mostly claimers here during the workmen's comp situation and has stayed with a string here, I assume because of the lower costs to the owners.
