Interesting though; all the self-righteous people slamming her for being fat.
What she said was nasty and ignorant but I do agree that CNN does scare people to death over non-threatening news.
Maybe that's just coz I live in NY and work 3 blocks from the Empire State Building!

Actually, the original post seemed, in my opinion, aimed much more at the messenger than at the message. I took no offense, on Barbaro's behalf.
Also, it was pretty accurately illustrative, I thought, of a non-horse-racing participant's view of our little world. After all, there are an awful lot of Americans for whom the Stallion Register is NOT bedtime reading. Far more insightful and ignorant, in my opinion, were the directly personal hurtful comments all those "Anonymous" people hurled back at her.

The title of the blog sums it up for me "Equine flavored rant?"
Classless stuff.
She talked about Barbaro as if it was some irrelvant garbage news, not worthy of a Breaking Story. She called the story Bulls****.
Is one living under a damp rock. Barbaro has been a national story since he won the Derby and during his recovery. You don't even have to be a fan of the sport to have some interest in this horses battle.
It was cold sad thing to say about a horse a nation rallied around. It was huge story for a long time.
She also ripped into the very people that tried thier best to keep the poor horse alive. Hurling insane accusations of bilking the horse for billions. What was that? Called them greedy. Bad stuff.
What kind of comment is this "I think they kept him alive just long enough to suction out several billion dollars worth of sperm."

Well, lets see:
1) They did considerably more than just "keep him alive". They were aiming for and partially achieved his comfort and happiness and almost saved him.
2) You don't "suction" it out
3) They'd never do that to an injured horse in his condition
4) Jockey Club, furthermore, currently demands a live cover
5) It would not amount to several Billion dollars worth if they did that to him every freakin' day. Which they couldn't, as outlined above.
Ergo--it's a pretty stupid statement.

Unfortunately I clicked on the link to see what all the fuss was about
WOW - you all really gave her what-for! Now everyone - follow me -
TAKE A DEEP BREATH, HOLD IT IN AND THEN EXHALE! People like this do what they do to get the reaction from folks like us on purpose. She got what she was after - attention....I did not go to any of her other "notes" to see if she had gotten some response on them but my guess is she is getting a thrill getting people to respond to her. Don't bother - she doesn't care and probably isn't reading them anyhow - she's wanting to see how many "hits" she gets. And her being over-weight has absolutely nothing to do with her being an idiot
Okay folks - carry on

It appears that her family and artist friends read her blog and post to it, if you read some of the other entries. She should at least be embarrassed for her uncaring remarks. Some of her friends seem normal, they all can't agree with her................hopefully.
The Onion did an article, in their usual style, but that is expected, and for the most part wasn't real bad. If I hadn't spent the last 9 months hoping, however futile, that Barbaro was going to make it, I might have chuckled at some of the humor.
No one will stop all of the tastless jokes, but soon Barbaro will be out of the limelight, and only those of us who really cared will think of him.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. This girl does nothing. She sits back, judging and insulting people who actually go out and DO something with their lives. She accused the Jacksons of not caring about their horse. Of only caring about money. She reminds me of a neighbor we had when we lived in the city. Everytime that woman was out of work, she was calling in on all the other neighbors for their woodpiles, their fences, their dogs, she poisoned a bunch of cats in the neighborhood. Some people have no purpose in life. They are jealous of anyone who has or does anything. And they think everyone else should have to listen to their bleating about how everyone else should be just like them. That woman was obese too. It is my humble opinion that this girl Heather has never had to make a tough call in her entire life. Someone else decides everything for her.
