Ms, I hope you feel better, and know your mare will always be thinking of how happy you made her :)

Know that the breeding industry is plauged with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, it's not for the faint of heart, but the rewards are immense.

Sending my deepest of sympathies.

I second that and have been there....and agree with Jenny.

Know you did all you could and fate took over from there.

My condolences on your losses.

The birth of a foal is looked forward to with such anticipation because of all the hope and promise that they bring. To have it take such a horrible turn is almost more than one can handle. Godspeed to both of them. I am so sorry for your double loss.

Mood,
I'm so, so sorry to hear of your loss. Though my condolences can't begin to fill the void, they are heartfelt.
As I mentioned in another thread, we are so lucky that our mares and foals allow us time with them, however brief. So we just have to try to make it as loving and caring as we can, while it's our privilege to have them.
Animal people, no matter the size of their charges, will always experience heartbreak, because we mostly outlive our non-human friends.
Hopefully, we learn a lot about unconditional love from them, too.
Take care and be well. The hurt will heal over time.

As a person who lost a mare and was left with an orphan foal, I know just what you went through. It's hard to believe how such a sweet moment of anticipation can turn to shock, disbelief, and horror so quickly. So sad for you. :(

There is not much that I can say to relieve your sadness over this terrible loss, other than to assure you that it is evident you have a group of friends and supporters here, who understand and care about you. Know that we care.

MS - so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a new foal is awful as I just went through that this month - losing the mama too is almost too much to bear. Hugs to you!
