I agree, Karen. We are all against doping, and dopers, Assmussen included.
But if anyone thinks doping trainers use drugs on only lower level stock, then they are the ones that are ignorant.
Mullins has been fined for many things. This just happened to be out in the open - not too bright on his part. Six months is not too much, in fact, it is a travesty that he can continue to train in other states.
NYRA to ban Jeff Mullins

Just some "food for thought".
Very good point!

From the Bloodhorse.com, a response from Mullins attorney, Karen Murphy:
“What NYRA has done is grossly irresponsible, wasteful, unnecessary, and will for sure damage all of racing,” Murphy said. “It was a witch hunt from the start.”
A "witch hunt"... Is that what you call discovery of illegal substances administered to a racehorse by a high profile trainer? A "witch hunt"??

What Home Run records to Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcwire have?
Most homers in a season. They were in a race for the record several times. McGuire held it for a season or two before Barry Bonds came along and took over. I'm a lifelong Cubs fan- the name Sosa still makes me sad.
My mistake.

What illegal substances?
There's nothing illegal about the substance in this case.
It's a case of where it was administered (in the detention barn).

Thats the point of my post above, no one but Mullins really knows what was in that syringe because he made the evidence untestable.
Regarding "illegal substance" it is a matter of semantics IMO. Mullins did the below:
"As a result of Mullins’ actions, Gato Go Win was scratched because the trainer was in violation of New York rules which prohibit race-day medication, except for the anti-bleeding medication, Salix, which can only be administered by a veterinarian."
So essentially anything administered on race-day other than Salix by a Vet is an illegal substance...

Baseball:
Sammy Sosa holds five home run records, and MarkMcguire holds three.
(See http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/rb_hr3.shtml )
Back to horse racing:
How many BC wins did Mullins - Asmussen - Dutrow - Pletcher have this year?

My bad on the HR mark.
I see that Sammy Sosa holds the National League record for most Home Runs in the month August.
After further review I see he also holds the record for most home runs hit by a Cubs Right Fielder from the Dominican on a 1-2 count after 3pm in home games while leading by two runs or more during a solar eclipse while Congress was in session.

The Elias Sports Bureau is the company that provides historical / official statistical data for Major League Baseball (as well as the NFL, NHL, and NBA). If Elias carries the stat, it is considered an "official" record, not like your ridiculous example. (That’s an interesting defence mechanism though … bet a psychiatrist would have fun with that one!)
Since you seem to have missed the main point of my post and went off on a tangent, I’ll try to clarify: if someone has been exposed as a cheat, even only an occasional one, then all of their accomplishments must be taken with extreme skepticism, regardless of the level. You can’t pick and choose on your own which ones were accomplished on the up-and–up and which ones were aided by illegal substances. That’s why Babe Ruth’s records are more meaningful than Sosa’s or McGuire’s (or Bonds’ or Clemens’, for that matter.) His accomplishments were pre-steroid. (It's all about "legitimacy" of the records.)
BC’09 weekend at O@SA was a high-vis event, and all participants apparently had to undergo the highest level of scrutiny and testing. In hindsight, when we see no wins for Mullins, Pletcher, Asmussen, and fDick Dutrow Jr, it makes me feel all the more certain that their performances year-round have been aided (at least in part) by the juice. Since we can’t know for certain which ones were drugged and which ones weren’t, I say an objective observer should look at all of their runners with a great deal of skepticism. It’s not like the horses from these barns who did run this past weekend were a bunch of hopeless longshots going in: Battle of Hastings absolutely laid over that field, all the so-called expert handicappers on TVG and HRTV had Interactif as a lock, and Court Vision was also highly touted going in …
Hope that helps.

I get it!
I agree!
I was just being a wise ass.
Yes, I do see a Psychologist regularly for about 10 years. Still trying to get over the abuse I suffered as a child and the resentment I feel towards my mother ever since. It took me along time to go get help. When I was young I thought only crazy people went to shrink. I am sorry you felt I attacked your post. It actually is right on point.
