I don't think anyone has even questioned where or not they were relying on what advice their vet or vet(s) had given them 11 month before she even foaled.

If the vet or clinic the did the UT extension said she was fit, and the vet that palped her said she was ready to go, and the stud farm approved a mare with a spotty repro record... why not try?

heart sick or not, for a farm the size of Hill N' Dale.. it's a business not a hobby.

And they did not dump her at an auction or let her starved to death...
