GOOD NEWS!!!

I took a bath with my husband today and then showed him the post about the $60 bath. He paid me $30 since we "shared" the bath and he is only half as big as most of the stud horses he has seen (he is a 6'6" German Warmblood after all).

Knowing him, I should be raking in the BIG BUCKS in no time!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have ANY idea at all?!

Failure to pay boarding fees shall entitle LHD to immediately terminate this Agreement to keep HORSE in LHD’s possession as per a possessor
lien right until all fees and charges are paid in full. OR until LHD exercises its Lien right by selling of the said HORSE at a private or public
sale. After notifying OWNER of LHD’s intent, when fees are 30 days past due. In the event such sale does not secure a sufficient price to pay
the costs of the LHD past due boarding charges, plus costs of sale, OWNER shall pay to LHD the difference of same. Any amounts realized by
LHD at such sale, over and above boarding charges due, and costs of sale, shall be retained by LHD as liquidated damages for breach of this
Boarding Agreement by OWNER.

Nevada is a pretty unfriendly place for those that don't pay their farm board bills and/or rent. Property rights and an aversion to Federal intervention in their affairs is NV's claim to fame.

I was taking a look at the contract.

It says under Registration Number "cannont be given out, Jockey Club Regulations. I can give a copy of his registration certificate without his number."

What? Is that actually true? I have NEVER heard of ANY Registry that did not allow you to share the horse's registration number for breeding purposes.

THAT sounds a little fishy to me  . Makes me wonder if something unpleasant is going on with his papers or something.

Also, the contract says "LHD will bred the mare by nature services or artificial insemination at its own discretion." Again, WHAT? So they are saying they won't allow you to decide how you want your own mare bred?

Hey I gave my mare a bath today. All by myself. I guessed I saved myself $60.

You nut!!!

Must be nice to have weather WARM enough to give them a bath!

Today was an aberration. It was in the 60s right before the tornadoes blew through. It will be in the 40s tomorrow.

If the breeding contract allows either Live Cover or AI, and they use AI, won't the Jockey Club refuse to register the foals?

Wasn't there another Sport Horse breeder the pulled this stunt last year?

Wow. He's unraced, has ZERO show record, has only just been broke to ride, isn't warmblood approved, and his pedigree won't make the racehorse breeders of the world jump up and sing. Whatever! There's gotta be something more than just pretty colors to make me want to breed to a stallion.

Correct. They spell that out in the contract that if they cant get the Live Cover done, if you want AI, there will be additional collection and insemination charges and the foal wont get JC papers

Not quite last year unless I missed something ...

Goldhope Farm in PA did the same thing back in 1998 and 3 palomino and 1 cremello colt got their papers pulled as a result, with one of them being mine ... :(

Good grief who would breed to this nag? Just look at his pedigree. Their contract is totally outrageous, these people must be nuts.

I also noticed the bit about the JC not allowing them to give out the horse's registration number. What hogwash.

And they have the stallion fee scale upside down. 4500 for a good mare and 1500 for a bad one? Wouldn't a stallion owner want to encourage mare owners to bring good mares rather than bad ones?

And another thing, their For Sale page has PMU horses for sale between 1500 - 2000. Right, I'm going to rush right over and get one. Maybe they should breed Billionair to some of these PMU maiden mares and then they can sell their colored PMU offspring for 20,000 each! :P

What is really odd, to me, is that he is a Thoroughbred and the first photo of him on their website has him all stretched out like a Saddlebred or Tennessee Walking Horse. What on earth..??

I can't actually beleive that they would charge you to spend a mere 1- to 15 minutes (one on one time) per horse per day! Wow that makes it sound just so special!! As Donna said........when you think you have seen it all!! LMAO

I'd love to see them bathe Bell... they'd earn their $60 and be lucky if they didn't need a shoulder replacement when it was over... ha ha!

(*note—that is only if you're not aware of her bathing "quirks"... )
