My sole opinion without any fact to prove this;

I,d think he is a better turfer than a horse for the dirt.

His feet, balance etc basically does not fit the dirt.

I thoguht I was the only one that thought this. he looks very funny running on dirt.

I think they could prolong his career with a surface reswitch

Why on earth would they want to prolong his career?

um.. because I am selfish and I don't want to see him retired :P

I'd like him to make it to at least November.. on the path he is on now he might have 1, maybe 2 more races in him.

You two can't be serious. For whatever physical immaturity and ailments this young colt has, looking funny as he gallops across a dirt track surface is not one of them. His hoof problems are a concern, but even on patched wheels, this 3 year old is a extraordinary mover. He can do it all. He can do it all on dirt, turf, and cushion. When you think about it, this colt has already run the 12f Belmont in the KD. This colt is multi-faceted. If he has one problem that truly reflects on his racing record, it is that he will retire soon after the Belmont finish line.

I 'RESPECTFULLY' disagree.

Neither BenB or I have said he isn't good on dirt. he's a world class dirt horse.

But so was Barbaro, and that doesn't mean he wasn't a BETTER turf horse. we don't know.

if the kentucky derby was on turf instead of dirt, he'd be on turf. just becuase he has won a grade 1 on dirt doesn't mean he isnt' better on turf.

I have seen his maiden race.. at least 50 times (seriously), and he looks more comfortable on turf IMHO. not to say he ISNT' comfortable on dirt, that is where your logic is somewhat flawed.. you are assuming I am saying that he isn't a good dirt horse and that by saying he has a turf stride, he doesn't have a dirt one.

Looking at BIG BROWN's maiden, when he was 2 year old, even 50 times is not a basis for concluding that he is better on one surface. You are shooting from the hip on this. I would feel better about your conclusion if I knew you spent time watching replays of 500 other juvenile racehorses 50 times.

I'm happy to disagree with you on this. As you point out on each of your posts: "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." On that point, there are a great many beautiful racehorses who can't run a lick.

and depending on what type of beer you are drinking, depends on the level of beauty something is. Given the right amount of Barcadi 151 a 10k claimer will look like Nearco

Shammy;

I only look to it as a turfmaniac, because overhere we do not have a dirt track.
So I watch quite different than most people from the us.
But look to his stride,and balance he definetely would fit the bil on a big track like Longchamp.

I would love to see him in the arc against curlin anda couple of good eurpeans, but I think (now) that ain,t gooiing to happen.

on a track with no turns or very little big brown would be virtually unbeatable

Hes qualified to do whatever he wants. Run in a straight line, run on rocks, run in the snow whatever hes that good of a horse..

He only gets beat if the quarter cracks acts up during the race.
