Nope...I'm on the wife's side...get her the horse and quit stalling...

Shammy, Plan B would be to buy a PART- Friesian, considerably less expensive. If you could really keep a secret, you could probably find a black or dark bay half Clyde or Shire/half TB for really cheap and pass it off as a Friesian... Or you could get hairpieces for the legs of a black TB....

Sometimes it is better to settle for a painting (they don't need to be fed or watered) if you just want something to watch, so maybe a picture of a Friesian... could tie into the hearing loss thing

Madelyn: If all else fails and she doesn't buy into the altzheimer and deaf tactic, Plan B looks viable. I can cut the manes off our bay mares and velcro them to a dark bay colt legs. If the colt has potential and can run, I can switch to another horse quickly. No one will be the wiser and by the time the ruse is discovered I've made a sale. Your advice is much more impressive than Green Hills who apparently has a political agenda and clearly doesn't understand the problems of physically and mentally challenged people. Bless you. Sincerely, Shammy

I tell what...maybe if we stand on the corner with a hat or a cup...we can get her the horse...

This is NYC...sometimes if you just look confused somebody will drop money in the cup...even if it's a full coffee cup...that's a story I'll relate sometime...

Green Hills: Lovely of you to offer, but I was born on Staten Island. 8) My Dad and Mom, both southern by ancestry, saw that the hat, dark glasses, and cup routine didn't work in the Big Apple in the 40's and they brought me back to greener pastures in VA. I'm still as poor as they were, but I wear a hat and dark glasses to keep the sun at bay not to appear blind and I drink spring water from a tin cup when my memory isn't failing and I can find it. Unless you've got a better plan, like you buy the horse and give it to us, I'm sticken to either Plan A or Plan B. PM me for the address to send the check or ship the horse. My wife will be so grateful. I can't wait to tell her what you are going to do for us. I know deep in my heart  that you are Mary Lou Whitney in disguise and though you're so sorry that SMARTY lost, you are happy to help poor southern folk like us. Thank you. Thank you. Gratefully, Shammy

So run for the green hills as fast as you can. There maybe gold there..

Wear as much armor as you deem appropriate.

I assumed they were expensive just due to the fact Martha had some. She seems to have Aged Wine Taste with an Aged Wine Budget.

hmmm....imagine that...

Being horse rich is about the same thing as being money poor...believe me I know that's true...  Otherwise I'd call up the farm in Sussex, NJ and see what I could do...

And hey...the name is Barbara...not Mary Lou...which always makes me think of that kid in the Olympics... :P

In our country they are not so expensive, what will make them expensive
in your country is that there a just not so much of them. And a number of people seeming to want them. The good ones, who are x rayed, who have
very good behaviour, no stable vices, good riding horses pulling wagons etcThey a worth a couple of bucks. But the moderate aren,t so expensive.
Travelliing and hauling makes it expensive not the horses. The top show in hand horses, with the breed conformations are also more or less valuable. Depend on what you think of valuable in terms of money.

Shammy, I might be able send you a black half TB dam is by a son of secretariat.
out of an friesian colt. I don,t have the slightest idea, how this product is looking, beiing a half tb and a half frisian, but I might give it a call.
It was a little bit of an accident, a couple of yearling friesian colts beside some open tb broodmares, only a ditch between them. So a hell of jump, and than followed by another. And 11 months later the result was delivered. This half bred belongs to people I know, also in a nothern part
of Holland called Groningen, state next to friesland.

Ben: None of you are helping my STALL, STALL, STALL & STALL Plan A. My attempt to get Green Hills to fork over the $$$$ is unanswered. I've not one clue where to find a black TB that Madelyn has suggested. All my TB's are bays. All my mares are running to the hills when they seen clippers in my hand and now you offer to send me a half and half. Generous of you, but I've got to figure a way to come up with a few more $$$$$$ than is currently available to me. I think the horse is beautiful. I admire Martha Stewart for having the class  and $$$$ to own a pasture of them, although I think her money is probably laundered off bad stock buys 8). I love the Netherlands. It's beautiful. Amsterdam is a great place and I love Heineken. But, personally, I think my wife can do with a TB. They are beautiful, too. They have class. They have history. The have charm. They are intelligent. They have value, and lots of it, and if she doesn't like a particular TB, they have resale value. All a Friesian can bring me is more debt. It's getting to the point that I can barely afford to fuel the car in the good ole US of A. With her new TV Reality Show, possibly Martha will be interested in your foal. I know she can afford the shipping cost. Otherwise, I'm just going to enjoy the old movies we have like Ladyhawk  and the new ones like Alexander :( . I appreciate your global generosity, but I'll have to decline  . Best wishes - Shammy

Shammy, you could use a Really Dark Bay! What about the painting idea? If you get really stuck and need to borrow one, I have a huge Very Dark Bay TB mare who could pass if she had the "feathers"... however, I would have to assume the attitude I get when I feel the need to go back to work on some thrilling, intricate computer project.... wait, the feeling will pass.....
