I can't believe they named him that, lol.

Back to the original topic...maybe they were hoping for a smaller foal and easier birth for a maiden mare? They often choose bull prospects for heifers that had a lower birth weight. That way, less chance for a loss of mare and foal and she might be able to handle a bigger one after carrying one? Just speculating.

I agree with Toccet. I'm not skilled at conformation, but I study. A lot. When I compare her picture with ones of yearlings that are praised for having good conformation you can see a big difference. There is something I just don't like about her back end. I'm not thrilled with her shoulder either. Nothing about her says 'racy' to me.

If you race than he looks fine....There is not one glaring fault on this baby.

If you sell, than he is small, immature and looks like he will need time.

He is quite balanced with a very good shoulder and hip angle. His hip will develop with time. Nothing glaring with legs and who cares if his neck is set low. He's a TB for pete's sake!!

He looks like a baby which I think shocks everyone since they are use to seeing monster, developed yearlings.

If you race like we do than you will find conformation is really quite overrated. I would rather have a slightly imperfect racehorse that can run than a perfectly conformed dud!

Did you all see the special feature on the Tiznow horse that has the most severe toe in (front legs) that I have ever laid my eyes upon?? That horse is a graded stakes winner!!

This ain't no horse show people!!!

*Edited to change Gender error..thanks Toccet!!!*

I know it's not a horse show, and most of these yearling s are astarting to look like stallions, so I knwo what you mean by the comparison...but really, HE (it's a colt according to the catalogue, no?) seems to have very blocky, weak looking lines to me. It's of course possible that I'm not familiar with how yearlings fill out---

He looks like a regular baby. He just doesn't have the genetics to look like a monster (naturally) with a conditioning program.

We have had babies that look like this and others who are naturally more advanced in appearance.

A good analogy would be to think of Little League baseball. You know how there are always those monster 12 year olds who are like 6 '2 190 pounds?? Well, that is the physical a pinhooker wants!!

Than, there are those short, skinny little league 12 year olds that are so light and immature you grandmother could bench press them!!

Well, by the time they hit puberty it will all even out and the little ones will catch up to the bigger ones.

However, the monster 12 year old kids are like our yearlings and 2 year olds....very advanced.

However, notice by the time the horses are 3 or 4 they all even out and the "big kids" don't have an advantage.

I know, I know..probably not a good analogy!!

Well CauseItHertz is still a maiden as a 4yo. Raced today SA Race 1 came in 2nd, he does not have his Mama's brilliant kick. He seems to be quite tiny.

Is in goods hands with Humberto Ascanio who also trains the winner of this race.

Watch it on CalRacing.com.
