summerhorse, go to your Profile and scroll down. At the bottom there's a section called Avatar Control Panel. I think it's pretty easy to figure out (well I figured out and I'm usually lost when it comes to these thing. ) The only complication is that the picture use has to be quite small, so you might have to tinker with that.

That is one heck of a four-month-old. :) How big is he now?

The last time I saw him was the end of December and he had grown a few more inches unfortunally for my niece's pony who was out with him. His growth was thankfully slowing down a bit after having been weaned. Mom milks like a holstein cow and he was an extremely tall leggy foal when he was born.

Mine is our first foal when about 3 months old. Now a yearling and we'll be breaking her in in another few months :)

Skipped a year with the mare and now in foal to Captain Rio.

How do you get the size smaller without losing resolution?

I change mine often, but the current one is of my filly Royal Pacific, born 1-18-06, with her dam Reigning Glory.

Perhaps you should post it since it's related to the question.

Actually, I have a cheat, I don't really know how to do it myself. Normally, if I need something shrunk, I send it to Sid ... she's unavailable at the moment so I have to back door it.

I've a private yahoo listmail. I upload the pic, it automatically creates a thumbnail, I snatch the thumbnail and then remove the pic.

It's a pain in the butt (only because my pc is a dinosaur and takes forever to download things), but I'm too computer stupid to do it any other way  That, and it's easier than fighting with it to get them the right size for avatar use (php boards aren't exactly "one size fits all" for avatar size, but a thumbnail pic normally is the right size).

I downloaded this program (in a zip file) to make my avatar. I thought it was pretty easy to use, and I'm not exactly skilled at the technical computer stuff.
