No Crystal, what I am saying is that Big brown is like War Admerial in "Seabiscuit". once that "thing" shakes lose it's game set match. turns slow you down to some extent, makes you go wide, gives you the ability of a bad trip.

Big Brown going straight without having to turn, you can forget it. His cruising speed is very high. espically with a horse with a late closing style.

I was 8yo when that movie came out. I think. :? I remember we used to have this cable channel that showed nothing but trailers for upcoming movies... I timed the cycle and knew EXACTLY when that trailer would play ever hour and made sure I flicked over to watch it.

I didn't learn until earlier this year that the "end" was actually the beginning in its original format.

Let It Ride, while a great movie, isn't a horse racing movie IMO. It's a comedy about people that just happen to be gamblers. Could've just as easily been a movie about poker.

yeah but the movie is the suckers of the horse racing movie. BTW if you ever want to learn how a car lot REALLY works, watch Suckers.... I worked in the car sales business for a year and a half.. suckers is the closet thing to the truth that i have ever seen.

that part of the movie when they were in the grandstand and he had the woman hitting on him and the guy was bragging about how much money he made in business and how he didn't need anyone's money, then after hte race asked him why he didn't tell him what he bet because "he wasn't made of money" is soo damn classic.

it's a no win situation. if I give you a wager and it loses, now i owe you money or at best, i'm a worthless loser. if I don't' give you the pick and I hit I either 1) really didn't bet it or 2) I'm a loser because i don't like to share.

you don't know how many times I'd win a nice race at a track (i usually gamble at home but when I go to the track) and you have what I call "window spotters".. women who do nothing but look at the teller to see who has won a nice race, and then follow you around the track like the woman in the red dress and to a lesser extent the woman in the green dress did the main character.

and him going around asking everyone they liked and why and everytime they said something he'd cross it out. that was too funny. but the REAL kicker was when that horse in the paddock gave him the "seabiscuit" stare and he "saw it in his eye" he was going to win. I almost cried laughing.

Well, I can't say what's the best racing movie, but I can say what's the WORST: The Electric Horseman, with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Not about racing per se, but what happens to a champion race horse in his retirement.

The ending is absolutely ridiculous. It was obviously written by someone who knows nothing about TBs. IMDB has the synopsis, if you haven't seen it.
