I like the idea of breaking up Sales into another category that supports rescue and/or or horses in need... I like passing along nice horses I come across on rescue sites, but don't want to frustrate those interested in sales only!

And I agree with whomever said horses in need sometimes get lost within the other listings...

As a "non" racer member (and I may be a minority!), I enjoy learning about the racing aspect... however, what about a category for "non-racing" TB sports, like those members who event or have show hunters, dressage mounts, etc.?

Maybe it just fits in under "General" (I don't want to perpetuate too long a list!) but maybe the description can include something to that effect, if Racing becomes a separate category...?

(I know I can post on the All Breed Board, but there's a lot of other info because it does include all breeds...)

Just a thought! :)

I agree. But rather than "Amber Alert" it could be titled something along the lines of "Endangered Horse Alert" or "Ferdinand Alert."

By the way, BJ, the members of another forum could restore your faith in the goodness of people. Those folks have started a collection to rescue some aged mares out of a forthcoming F-T auction. Marli is involved with the project.

Early last week, on that very same board, someone sent out a plea to help save an unsound horse currently racing at the lowest rank in Arizona. The plea came from a person many, many miles removed from the horse's location. Before the end of the day, a complete stranger stepped up (Arizona trainer Toni Richardson), secured the horse with her own money, and took him back to her barn to be cared for until he could be shipped to his rescuer in Kentucky.

Here's a link to that board if you'd like to get involved...

Well thank you Linda for the info. Marli has all my phone numbers and email (as do all Exceller Board members). She knows she can call me anytime and if I can help, I will! Unfortunately, my life and schedule does not allow me to spend much time reading and hanging out in forums.

I think I have my faith in people pretty honed. For every person who saves a horse from slaughter, there are several hundred more who sent a horse there! Unfortunately.

Don't you just love people like that? Makes you wonder who is paying their bills because if they had a real job they would appreciate and respect the hard work of others.

BJ, give it a rest already. Your sanctimonious crap is getting old.

All I did was point out the danger in spamming peoples inboxes or creating pop-ups.

Even people who WANT to help would be pissed if they start having to deal with pop ups on this site if it starts to interfere with the way the board runs.

Could you please NOT try to hijack yet another thread and turn it into a zealot rant on slaughter?

H. R. Pufnstuf ring any bells?

Seriously now, how much more insidious could THAT thing have been? Talk about a spokesperson for rampant drug use. His name alone is a blatant sex/drug innuendo. "Puff - N - Stuff"? Sounds like it should be the name of a mom and pop specialty drug and bondage store "Bongs on the left ... belts on the right" The whole flippin' show was a bad acid trip ... "Ooooo the COLOURS!"

Don't even get me started on The Bugaloos ... gah ... and people think Teletubbies are bad!

Never did like Pufinstuf (Jimmy the Flute was a chronic whiner, though having Mama Cass show up as Witch Hazel was a hoot). But how about the Banana Bunch? (Oh, am I ever dating myself....)

Humph. Nobody liked Shari Lewis? I used to listen to her on the radio before she got her TV spot. When she was on TV, she came on afternoons just after "The Edge of Night". Or maybe that was "Dark Shadows". And I'm not old.

You don't men the Banana Splits, do you? Man, I loved that show when I was a kid! But, then I caught some re-runs of it a couple years ago - what the heck was I thinking?! I must have been really easy to amuse back then.

Still, I think that needs to come out on DVD....most of the Sid & Marty Kroft stuff is out already (even Lidsville, yikes), but Hanna-Babera's lagging in that regard.

Cartoon dork? Moi?

UK Import ... I think I missed that one. Sounds familiar though

That was about the thought I had a few years ago when I caught part of a 3 day Krofft marathon on Nickelodeon (must have been a 30 year anniversary thing).

I caught eps of Pufnstuf, Land Of The Lost (I had a dream about Sleestacks a few months ago actually ... very weird), Sigmund the Seamonster, Bugaloos, whatever that thing Deidre Hall starred in -- Electra Woman? -- and thought "Christ, and I grew UP on this crap? No wonder my generation is so screwed up." The one that still sticks out in my mind was the Pufnstuf episode about magic mushrooms.

Oh no ... the Kroffts were never on drugs

The other one that I used to like was The Great Space Coaster With Gary Gnu (pronounced "Ga New") and the Gnu Gnews :D

raises hand

I was a total Scooby Doo fiend ... which is why I was SOOOO disappointed in the live action movie they did a couple years ago.

Remember the cartoon about the two little dogs (Petey and Dolly, I think) who were on a ship when it sunk and they went around the world with another group of dogs trying to get home. One of them had really big ears and could fly. There was a greyhound named Dash and a 'tramp' like dog that I can't remember the name of.

Avatar sizing nightmare

Postby Diane » Tue Feb 01, 2005 12:45 am

Thank you, thank you, thank you Sidhepro!!
I spent 6 hours over 2 days trying to get my pic to the correct size and you saved me from insanity.
My baby there is 11 this year. The foal coming late April-May won't be nearly as colorful but hope it grows up to be as good a horse as this one is.
