It's a lovely breed, but a little out of my price range at the moment, also. Unless someone would take a good used Irish Draught Sporthorse mare in trade. LOL Or maybe I could have my hubby bring a Friesian back on his next trip to The Netherlands. I honestly didn't know the breed originated there. Thought they were a Spanish breed. I should have had a clue when I saw one of the members of the Cavalerie Ere-Escorte riding one.

Um...I don't suppose there's such a thing as a Friesian rescue. :D

I'm sure that if there was...the line would be long to rescue them...

A frisian rescue, not in our country. None that I know also, not any rescues at all.

Green Hills: I do so apologize. From my perspective this thread is getting out of hand. We've gone global and normally I barely make it out the county. Clearly, when I meant unanswered I was referring to the $$$$$$ 8) . It gives me more options than the Friesian would  . All of you have been swell, but to save my marriage I think I'll act the like three monkeys: See, Hear, Speak No Evil  and, if that doesn't stall her, I'll then run for the hills as fast as I can. Sincerely, Shammy

Madelyn: Let me think on the painting idea  . I'll have to get some estimates. I hate painting. I don't even paint walls or fence. I'm just not creative enough to be a painter. My imagination went south with my memory long ago. Best wishes - Shammy

Hey...I guess the point is...everyone wants you to quit stalling and get her the horse...it doesn't mean anything if we do it...you have to be the one to get the horse.

I love her too much not to get her the horse. I just wanted to vent. But, I'm not taking care of it. It'll be her horse. I've got to draw the line somewhere.

Here I was scouring around for a black TB so you could Velcro mane hair to the legs....

Anyhow, Friesian near you

Good luck, re the painting, I was thinking of a framed piece of art to hang on the wall, you wouldn't have to do any painting, anyhow, would probably cost much less than the horse
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Shammy, I'm with your wife. I want a Friesian too! :D

My dear, long-suffering fella has said that he'll get me one - as soon as he can find and train a giant South American Harpy Eagle to swoop down upon Martha's farm and steal one for me. 'Cause that's about the only way either of us can afford it.

How much do those harpy eagles go for, anyway? :? One big and strong enough to carry a friesian from NY to Boston...probably would have to be about the size of a zeppelin. Or at least a winnebago.

Zialand, you weren't mistaken a lot. The Frisian horse is in a way a "Baroque" breed just like the horses of the Spanish Riding Shool in Vienna (Austria, Europe) and the Spanish Andalusian horses, so called because they represent that part of history, the Baroque age, which was rich to see. Kind regards

 Madelyn: Apparently you did not see the price on Harley the Friesian in VA that you gave me the link to. Only $25K. I fail to the see the humor or rationale in your post, but I definitely recognize the comedy of this search. I have also noted that the rescue half and half is named Farley. Farley is in Texas. What I'm looking for is a Friesian with Farley's price in Argentine pesos and Harley's pedigree and conformation in VA. I think this should narrow the search.     Best wishes - Shammy
