do your homework look at the last 3 triple crowns some of us forget . times they are a changing. Key influences over the past 30 yrs, that era is about to be over !!! I still feel the factor is still the mares !!!! Good solid female nicks It took me 7 yrs to un cover the pattern that create great racehorses and sires.. Look very closely at the last 3 years and horse of the year find the common factor .then your eyes will be opened !!!!!

Peinture Naive, 02 filly. By Wagon Master (Rainbow Quest x Dom Racine x Charlottesvile), out of daughter of King Macedon (Diatome x Grey Sovereign), 2nd dam by Kashmir II, 3rd dam by Vaguely Noble. Fourth dam with american pedigree, sire line Sun Again, with influence of Bull Lea, ben Brush through Sweep, Blue Larkspur, Man o'War, King Salmon, Pompey... just breathtaking.
Certainly nothing SOOO MUCH special, but this filly won today our biggest Derby trial, and she defeated some colts who would rather die than finish out of table
as well as some wonderful imports - colts by In the Wings, Grand Lodge, Halling and Montjeu... and she defeated them in such STYLE...
I adore her!!!

Gainesview, welcome to the Board! You will find many very insightful folks here... our little board, though, pretty much follows the other conventions of internet chat sites, and using all capital letters is the internet form of Shouting. I note you seem to be using them in a reverse form.... the Caps Lock key on your keyboard will unlock the capital letters and then when you use the Shift key you will once again be able to capitalize the personal pronoun, "I"....
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Hi jellac,
Do Play Too 1988 certainly has rare lines in her pedigree - but better yet, she's well bred. Nice to see someone who knows what he/she is talking about. Keep up the good work.

Gunter Prischl wrote:Looking for rare (or maybe even extinct) lines, is also one of my passions. My reason for doing this is to help to improve the thoroughbred.
To breed a Stakes Winner it is imperative that Sire and Dam are genetically compatible. Just study how Senatore Federico TESIO bred his outstanding horses. There is a reason why he is known as the "Wizard of Dormello".
If anybody has a mare who's sireline goes back to Hyperion, and her dam sireline to Phalaris - and the mare were to be bred to FRENCH SEVENTYFIVE - the resulting foal should have a good chance to make an impact on the track (even though a thorough pedigree check will have to be made first). FRENCH SEVENTYFIVE traces via AMBIORIX and TOURBILLON to the BYERLEY TURK - a line which has almost disappeared and yet is extremely important for the improvement of the thoroughbred.
In the US the corresponding lines would be something like NOHOLME II up top and any NEARCO lines (NASRULLAH, SECRETARIAT, SEATTLE SLEW, etc) as dam sirelines.
If anyone is interested, please let me know for a check-out of the pedigrees.
Gunter
I happen to have two mares (full sisters) with such a formula:
NEARCO 4S x 7D x 6D 3 2 (2) (0) 8.59% 5x5 12.62%
SIR GALLAHAD3 6S x 8S x 6s x 6D x 7d x 6d 6 6 (3) (3) 7.42% 5x5 9.28%
PHAROS 5S x 6S x 8D x 6d x 7D 5 3 (2) (1) 7.42% 5x5 10.24%
HYPERION 5s x 6S x 6D 3 2 (1) (1) 6.25% 5x5 9.93%
ALIBHAI 5S x 5D 2 2 (2) (0) 6.25% 5x5 10.38%
PHALARIS 6S x 8S x 7S x 9D x 7D x 8D x 6D 7 3 (3) (0) 5.66% 5x6 6.60%*
ST SIMON 9s x 8S x 8S x 9s x 9S x 8S x 9S x 9s x 9S x 9s x 9S x 9S x 9S x 9s x 9S x 9D x 9D x 9D x 9d x 9D x 9d x 9d x 8D x 9D

Take a look at Noble Mary Bush. That, my friends, is a rare pedigree. She was injured early on, never raced that her owners can discover, and is hell on wheels for temperament. She is classically beautiful and has wonderful movement, with lots of overreach.
I feel in love with her pedigree and am leasing her for breeding to a Belgian Warmblood for eventing. I'd think she would have much greater value as a TB broodmare just for her pedigree.
If you owned her, what lines would make a good TB match?

Hallo,
maybe the following Germanbred Stallion fit in of unusual peds.
Aspros (by Sparkler) bred by the "Gestut Roettgen". He stood several years at his breeders stud, but was later send to Hungary and died in this country in 2003. When I had a look at his lines, it's understandable he was send to this country. Aspros had some successful runners, but no son how was regarded as good to stand for stallion duties for German breeders.
His daughter Diasprina is worth a look, too. Btw, her damline was imported from Hungary during the Sixties. I always wondered why. The mystery was solved, when I saw the ped of the Top Sovietunionbred racehorse Anilin. He even raced here in Germany and won Graded Stakes.
best regards, Bettina

Northern Dancer’s influence in German-bred TBs grows more and more; nevertheless from an international point of view You can find some rather peculiar looking pedigrees. Some examples:
Si Sol (H, 2001) by Solon (Local Suitor) out of Secret Gold by Lemhi Gold (Vaguely Noble), German-bred but raced in France
Belmonda (F, 2002) by Hondo Mondo (Caerleon) out of Balafarina by Paris-Turf (Northfields)
Jazz Dancer (H, 2002) by Macanal (Northern Flagship) out of Jazz Princess by Gold and Ivory (Key to the Mint)
Koxala (F, 2002) by Oxalagu (Lagunas) out of Kokette by Luigi (Home Guard)
Lizee (F, 2002), by Wakidi (M-Lolshan) out of Literatur by Authi (Aureole)
